From the mysterious remains of the pre-Hispanic towns right in the city’s heart you can go to the colonial era with its endless temples and beautiful houses of red volcanic rock. A perfect stroll!
Please pardon the appearance. Our government is still figuring out how to have a world class arrival area (But do not be fooled: our country is much more beautiful than this terminal 1).
Take the metro in Terminal 1 at the end of Gate 1. From Terminal 2, take the free SkyTrain to Terminal 1. It's only 5 pesos to get to the city center on the metro.
One(but Very Important)thing You have to absolutely make sure is to know from which terminal your flight departs or arrives. They are like Teo completely different airports.
one world fqtv folks: if you like a lounge all for yourself, pick Iberia lounge on the first floor instead the American Airlines Lou ge, Iberia has only two flights a day and the lounge even has beds.
After security the cheapest place for quick snacks food and water is actually the 7-11! Almost half of what the other little shops charge. Keep your eyes peeled though it's easy to miss.
Easily one of the most confusing airports in the world. Signage is sorely lacking, and there are so many random rules and procedures before boarding. Make sure you get here early.
The best airport! It's the only airport where you can get a beer for £1.2 and snacks or food for less than £3 in the 7 eleven store, also the toilets are clean and you can arrive or leave by the metro
This is North America’s most cosmopolitancity whether arriving or departing this massive airport is the 16th busiest in the world. Celebrate that you’re here and the modernist charms.
Keep an eye on the flight screens and an ear out for the announcements. Delays and gate changes are rampant here.Charge your devices BEFORE you arrive. Working power outlets are few and far between.
This is the place where I start to feel at home .. this is the only airport where you can get real Mexican food, ask for the food court, just before the security line.
For the Metro, from T1 simply follow the signs and walk ~5 minutes, from T2 walk towards the parking lot and then follow the walkway to exit the airport, turn left and walk ~15 mins to Pantitlan
Food court for local flights in terminal 1 has many options compared to other airports. However, you gotta arrive here with lots of anticipation because is too crowded
BE ADVISED! IT IS ONE OF THE WORST ORGANIZED AIRPORTS. GET HERE WITH AT LEAST TWO HOURS PRIOR DEPARTURE.YOU WILL LOSE YOUR FLIGHT if you do not plan accordingly. PROSSESSING TAKES WAY TOO LONG!
When flying in or out of Mexico City, try to arrive or depart terminal 2!! Much better than terminal 1, and a little cleaner. In addition, the Amex lounge is nice and the duty free area is big!!!
T2 is the newest terminal and works for Aeromexico, Delta, Copa and Aeromar. Not accesible via subway but omnibus is available, although when in a hurry, Uber is the best choice. Breakfast in Keyser🥰
The airport is divided in 2, both of them has national and international flights, so keep an eye on your time and scheldule, you may get the airtrain so you can get to you correct gate and terminal!
All the baggage of travelers from South and Central America is thoroughly inspected by trained anti-drug dogs. Immigration could be fast but waiting for the baggage could take around one hour.
When you arrive and pass immigration, make sure you go to the right area for your baggage, because there are different exits for South American flights to North American, European and Asian flights
Super long line at immigration, waited for an hour in line. Fill in the form early and rush to the front of the line. Uber to downtown is my pick for transit.
Metro is outside Puerto 1 in Terminal 1. Extremely cheap, quick & safe transport to anywhere in the city. You can take Aerotrain / Bus from Terminal 2 (Bus outside Peurto 4). Few signs for Metro.
The airport is pretty big and it can take a while to get from Terminal 1 to 2. So take your precautions. Also, big sections of the duty get closed from time to time.
Keep the immigration form they give you when you fly in! You will spend an hour paying a 300 peso fine if you lose it, and since they only ask for it when you are boarding, you may miss your flight.
the iberia lounge beats the AA lounge by a small margin; united slightly better; but still very sad places; and restaurants / shopping also not very existent... do not get here too early.
Int’l Terminal is really nice, domestic terminal is alright. Terminals far apart so ensure you’re at the right one before heading to airport. Lots of lounge access. Easier to take a taxi than Uber.
Bad signage inside and outside. Some flights are assigned a gate one hour before departure. Before that, the alphabetical “gate” refers to a holding area. Easy to get an Uber to the city
Check for your inmigration card at least a day before you leave, because if your flight is very early in the morning the inmigration office opens untill 7am work days, 8am weekends.
dont loose your immigration papers they give you!! if you do, BRING PESOS! THEY DON'T TAKE CREDIT CARDS OR USD, JUST PESOS! they dont speak good english (suprise) so know a little spanish when going.
