Michael Alderete: Friendly neighborhood bar. Gets crowded with local regulars most evenings, and the vibe is friendly jocularity, and welcoming. Most food is very good, and the drinks are strong and fairly priced.

Michael Alderete: Outstanding selection of high quality beers, one of the best in the Coachella Valley. Extremely well-made cocktails, a touch expensive. One of the best fish-and-chips in the entire valley.
Michael Alderete: Get the pancakes. Everything is fine for your average breakfast-focused diner, except the pancakes, which are out-of-this-world good. For $2 extra get the real maple syrup, it's worth it.
Michael Alderete: Great happy hours, and one of the friendliest, busiest bars in Palm Desert. The bartenders are universally efficient (fast-but-skillful), and live music a few nights a week.
Michael Alderete: My favorite Italian place in Palm Desert, by far. The stuffed squash blossoms are etherial, and the fettuccine alla Bolognese is as good as I've had anywhere. Great wine list, and excellent cocktails.
Michael Alderete: The best breads and pastries we've found in the Coachella Valley. The torta della Nonna is the standout dessert for me, so far. Friendly service looking into the open bakery.
Michael Alderete: For a place that feels like a chain, this place turns out very good personal-size pizzas in just a few minutes. The crust is very thin, so plan to eat in the restaurant, before it cools.
Michael Alderete: The best grilled Reuben sandwich I've ever had, including San Francisco and New York City. Likewise for the matzo ball soup. Desserts are mostly meh, but the cookies are excellent.
Michael Alderete: Really terrific Jaegerschnitzel (pork cutlet with mushroom gravy) and spaetzle. Other German items looked great, too, but we haven't sampled the full menu yet.
Beer Garden · Old Town La Quinta · 6 tips and reviews
Michael Alderete: Really nice place to sit inside or outside and have a fresh draught (draft) beer. Right in the middle of Old Town La Quinta, it's a great place to take a break from exploring and have a pint or two.
Michael Alderete: Well above average strip mall taqueria, this place is a staple for us. Friendly and fast service, and serve yourself salsa means you have enough for any dish.

Mexican Restaurant · 13 tips and reviews
Michael Alderete: The standout dishes here are the seafood items. Excellent fish and interesting, flavorful sauces are the rule. The seafood platter we had was huge and delicious, easily feeding three people.
