Good cheap vintage. Dresses typically $15-30, shirts $8-15, coats $40-50. Most of the clothes are deadstock from Florida (who knows). Requires digging & imagination but I always find something.
ABSOLUTELY the best place in NYC for work clothes and cocktail dresses. If you like Theory, Marc by Marc, Cynthia Steffe, Leifsdottor etc. and can't afford it, you can here. Great shoes too.
The E Vill one is sick due to huge volume of trendy girls in the area. Go on weekday mornings, and dig dig dig. Some of my best all-time bargains here including $17 vintage DVF.
The BEST place for cocktail/wedding attire. Most cocktail is under $150 including MJ, Betsey, DVF, Walter, Tibi, Nanette Lepore, Tracey Reese, etc. Good for skirts, blouses & jackets too.
Mysteriously related to No Relation somehow, has virtually the same stock for cheaper. I got a 70s Gucci bag here for ten bucks. Great scarf/boot selection. Grungy but cheap.
FOR EXPERIENCED THRIFTERS ONLY, this place is a cheap ass gold mine but requires fortitude. Clothes are thrown in big blue bins, totally unsorted, new stuff all the time. THE CHEAPEST THRIFT IN NYC.
I don't really like this place b/c the employees think they're so special (bitch I been thrifting since before you were born), but they have some sweet affordable stuff like $19 doc marten maryjanes.
I get virtually all my shoes here. I often pricecheck online while shopping and DSW is almost always cheaper. Check dsw.com to get a general idea of what they carry before schlepping to Union Sq.
This is actually better than the Chelsea Loehmann's IMHO b/c the clientele is older, so the cool younger clothes go unsold.
