One of the most tranquil oases in the city is the lush, secluded patio in back of Arlequin and Absinthe, off Hayes. Any given day you can grab a glass of wine in and take it to the back garden. Read more

The patio is great, but often crowded. Expect to do some hovering for a table in nice evenings.

Comfy cozy atmosphere - a lovely breakfast spot. The breakfast platter was savory goodness; especially liked the caramelized onion that came on the potato.

One of a handful of tranquil patio coffee shop SF work locations, nicely sheltered, not insane traffic or noise levels. Oh & great coffee too. If you need other liquid inspiration, there's Absinthe.

Upscale breakfast burrito, sub the pork for bacon -- super tasty. Also, the garden in the back is beautiful!

Good food & wine at reasonable prices. When with friends, get a bottle of wine from their wine store next door, order the cheese platter & sit at the back patio (near the heat lamp in cooler weather).

Really underrated spot to grab a glass of wine, or split a bottle w/ minimal corkage fee with friends. They have decent wi-fi so not a bad place to do some work during the day.

The All-day Breakfast Burrito is exactly what you want when you wake up at 11 and miss the breakfast window, but still want breakfast. Grab a coffee to go with it and enjoy the patio out back.

Could possibly be one of my favorite cafe's in San Francisco. Free wi-fi and a fantastic outdoor area. Food, coffee and baked goods are pretty spot on. Nice wine bar next door as well.

Love this little cafe! It's so inviting, and the best place ever to get some work done on a laptop over the perfect cup of coffee. Make sure to check out the patio!

Secret garden in Hayes Valley! Get a bottle of wine to share, and a lamb burger and have it all at one of the rickety tables in the garden.

If they are available, you've got to try the Chocolate Cherry Cookies. It's almost like someone smushed a cordial cherry and added just enough flour to keep it from being a mess! They are the best!!

Part of the Absinthe group, Arlequin has one of the best back yards. The food isn't bad either. Good imported wine collection in its attached shop.

For those based at mid-Market it's nice to find an excuse to head into Hayes Valley. Arlequin does great sandwiches, salads and tasty baked things. Also wine, if there's time.
