I've compiled a list of the best places to work on a laptop! These are accessible by anybody, have outlets (unless otherwise noted), free WiFi, comfortable, and preferably a view.
Arthur Chang: A spectacular view of La Jolla Cove and Shores. Best in the mornings to afternoon when you get a ton of sun. Free WiFi, great food and iced tea. The bad: no outlets, sometimes smells like seals.

Arthur Chang: One of my absolute favorites. Lots of space to hangout and work, great lighting, fantastic food. They have a locally grown mint mocha that's fantastic. Service is great too. Fun neighborhood.

Arthur Chang: One of my all time favorites. Very quiet, friendly service, clean and great food and drink. Lots of natural lighting. Downside is they close pretty early.
Arthur Chang: My favorite Living Room. The upstairs has great natural lighting, is quiet, has good seats with outlets and wifi. Service here is great, and they have good coffee.

Arthur Chang: On weekends and non-lunch hours, this is the best place to work. Tons of tables by huge 2 story windows overlooking the lagoon. WiFi for students and lots of outlets. I love it here.

Arthur Chang: Up the short stairs and in the back there's a really great area to sit and do some work. Gets a little crowded but it's usually not too bad. Free WiFi that works great, lots of outlets.
Arthur Chang: Cute little cafe, away from all the tourists, believe it or not. There's no bathroom which is the only downside. Great drinks, comfy chairs, quiet, great environment.
Arthur Chang: Great coffee shop! Easy parking, lots of space, good coffee. I could sit here all day. Take a walk down to Hennepin park for a break once in awhile.

Arthur Chang: When there's no game at AT&T Park, this place is really nice. The food is in small portions, but espresso drinks are great. Comfortable seating! Enjoy a cappuccino.
Arthur Chang: Want to swim in a soup of startup geeks? Come in here for your daily dose of "It's kind of a Groupon for..." and "Facebook API is all f...". I always see fellow Y Combinator founders in here.
Arthur Chang: Great natural lighting. A bit noisy but fine if you have a good set of headphones. Best seats are on the raised "stage" next to the windows.

Arthur Chang: There's free WiFi! Outlets are a bit scarce, but come during the week when there's no freakishly large crowds. My favorite is hanging out in front of the reef tank.
