If you have to stay here longer either buy a ticket to one of the Lounges in Terminal 1 (50$) or be sure to catch one of the comfortable arm chairs in the so called library right before Terminal 1
Elegant interior design .. Quite small compared to Dubai & Doha Airports .. Well-organized .. Etihad airways is the main operator for Abu Dhabi Airport ..
Get a comfy seat near the CR. And order some food and ask them to fill up your water bottle. They gladly do that. Don’t buy the junk they try to push on you, sleep while you wait for your transfer.
yes, toilet can be a problem here. sleep next to gate 31, toilets next to gate 32. get a blanket (free) from flight transfer desk, you just have to ask, and also the same for meal coupon.
Free but rather slow WiFi. Terminal A has a great sitting area with chargers and sockets of all kinds and chairs with leg rests. Also halal McDonald's is superior to any other, try it.
Free wifi but too small a airport. Expansion is a must and soon.... Festive time & it is overflowing tbh.... Also more people to help/assist for directions wud help esp on arrival from Dubai via bus
Although it's not a new one but they really care about travelers comfort and renovation. The only annoying thing is the shuttle buses which are used mostly instead of the airplane bridge channels.
If you're traveling during the Eid holiday, bear in mind that the airport is packed and there will be considerable delays before you reach your gate, so head to the gate right after checking in.
Nice big airport, plenty of stuff around. If flying from the Etihad terminal, just go straight to the desk, there's no split at check in for individual flights. Nearly caught us out.
Every departure gate has its own prayer room. Food court was located on the top floor, they have burger King, Starbucks, McDonald's and Asian food (if u crave ramen go to the Fod Park).
LIFEHACK! If you have a long stop and fly with Etihad go to their reception and ask for FREE blanket, toothbrush and vaucher for breakfast and dinner. That awesome.
Getting Closer to home, one of the fast developed airport in term of facilities, Air-routs, services & importance. Never forgot that it got well publicized with The latest Mission Impossible Movie
For a reasonable price of $60/80 (single/double) you'll get a tiny soundproofed room with a bunk bed equipped with a normal size comfortable mattress, good pillow and a nice linen set
Don’t miss or delayed ur flight you want find anybody to help you , airport controled by some nationalty, they act like the manager of the head office they let you pay with big smile for their fault
This airport is not the biggest you can arrive at but you find most of the stuff you need. If your in transit and have time, pay a visit to the Sheikh Zayed Mosque. You can get there quickly via Taxi.
If your layover is more than 4hrs apply for a transit visa or Europeans are eligible for 30 day visit visa on arrival. Not much to do here, although there are $15 p/h sleeping pods and showers!
The wannabe DXB does a good job of it. Has free wifi, of course - just ask the many help desks located around the airport. Has all the usual options for dining.
Winner of the 2012 World Airport Awards 'Best Airport in the Middle East'. Its Terminal 3, home of Etihad Airways, features an award-winning concierge style check-in. http://bit.ly/10uxK7g
Due to some visa issues this airport turned to be my home for almost 20 hours. It's not huge, but you can fly from here to simply everywhere. Good wifi. Lots of sleeping areas.
Unlimited free WiFi! Well organised and easy to navigate. If only they had power sockets in the sitting area...sucks to sit on the floor of the corridors to charge my laptop.
HUGE bottleneck at security when moving between international terminals - with no monitors to help mitigate the madness. Give yourself some extra time and keep your cool, my friend...
The old terminal is quaint, crowded and old fashioned in today's day and age... but there is also a certain charm to brick and mortar that glass and steel will always lack.
The first place I've been in UEA: the structure is incredibly great! I have been in Abu Dhabi for #NokiaWorld 2013: did u miss it? Catch up with my Storify: bit.ly/NokiaWorldStorify
Small airport compared to DXB (for now), wifi speed is ok and free,e-gate system is a bit confusing, register beforehand. Prices for beverages and snacks are high 💸. Duty free on arrival is basic.
Beta test site for CBP's bullshit "pre-clearance" into the US (i.e. clear customs prior to entering the US). No Global Entry yet. US style security (shoes off). US CBP. Lovely experience. Go 'Merica!
Pay to get in one of the lounges in Terminal 1. It's worth the money. You can eat drink or even take a shower. Also Free WiFi is availble. Two hours cost 48 USD and 5 hours cost 78 USD
Its unbelievable, it doesn't look like an airport, looks like a resort, an oasis, or something like that. Still expanding and you barely notice it. The best airport I ever was.
Make sure you go to the lounge closest to your gate. There's a smaller lounge near terminal 1, with less food, but still with a spa. But it's a win cause it's less crowded.
If you have a long transit and want to explore Abu Dhabi while saving your budget, ride A1 bus. It cost only 4 dirhams. From International airport to Abu Dhabi AirportCity Terminal(last station).
If departing to JFK, passport control & customs are done in Abu Dhabi. Makes arrival simple but your departure needs at least 3 hrs for extra inspection. Spotty wifi
If you need a visa to enter UAE but you only want to connect flights - no worries. Transit desk will help you so you can transfer your luggage and will issue you a boarding pass for an onward flight.
