- Sankofa TafariJuly 31, 2017Totally loved the atmosphere and the coffee was awesome. It will be my regular dinner place on Sundays.
- Barbara Ann RogersMarch 18, 2017Amazing food, warm service. The vegan combo is the way to go, but next time I may just get the mushroom tibs, which sounds divine too.
- That GirlJanuary 17, 2019Vegan plate for two is delicious and filling, even for your meat eating friends. Lamb is also incredible. Great date spot.
- JohannaMay 10, 2015The missir wett is so good - get the vegetarian combination with that and 3 others (also great: the buticha and key sir).
- Arguably the best Ethiopian restaurant in New York City
- Murtada ElfadlAugust 6, 2011Fantastic Ethiopian food, among best in NYC. Go on a weeknight when it's quiet and there is no wait.
- eric mortensenJune 3, 2012Very tasty. The mead compliments nearly everything. And nearly everything is delicious.
- martha dentonDecember 19, 2013If you order a day in advance, you can get a gluten free meal. We are told it's even tastier than the already very tastey typical options.
- Edomia zaide BereheJuly 7, 2017Veggie combo was great and the service excellent. Warm and friendly staff!
- I had the special this evening " Gomen Kitfo". An amazing substitute to meat "Kitfo" to those who are vegetarians. So yummy!
- Thaniya KeereepartMarch 2, 2014Fantastic food. Slow service. Worth the wait if you are down to linger around but definitely not a pre-show dinner spot.
- The New York TimesMay 6, 2010Bati’s injera is the real thing, dusky in color and springy to the touch. Whole hard-boiled eggs pop up like Cracker Jack prizes in the doro wett, a chicken stew. Read more
- the veggie combo is great and for u extra spicy lovers, ask for awaze sauce on the side. ;0)
- Jim RossMarch 25, 2011Doro Wat was pretty good, but the Bati Tibs were brilliant! Awesome food. Very helpful service too (recommendations etc).
- Alice QNovember 20, 2019Smallest portions I’ve ever seen. you only get 1 injera at a time and after 2, they charge you. That being said, the food was better than average and they have good service and ambiance.
- It’s not BYOB anymore and they’ll only accept two credit cards max!
- The vegetable combo is addictive. I somehow end up at Bati every week.
- Pratheeksha KSDecember 27, 2018This place has reasonable food but the service is subpar. The entire restaurant was pretty much empty, but they insisted 3 of us sit around a 2 person table which is worse when it's Ethiopian
- Journo GirlDecember 31, 2012Food is good, but spicy. Nothing for little kids. $15 and up per entree, but most are shareable.
