Coffee
Is grown in more than 40 countries, including colombia, costa rica, ethiopia, guatemala, honduras, indonesia, mexico, peru, tanzania, & the united states. Of these, the leading producers are peru, ethiopia, & mexico.
Roasting
We roast our beans daily in order to provide the finest taste & quality. This method allows our coffee to have the perfect combination of body, sweetness, acidity, aroma, & flavor. Coffee beans develop their aroma & flavor during the roasting process
Cupping
Body is how the weight, thickness & texture of coffee feel on the back of the tongue. When coffee is brewed it releases oils & solids which determine the body. The coffee w/ a heavier body holds more of its flavor after it has been diluted.
Coffee Care
When brewing, use fresh, cold water; using tap water may pass on a distasteful flavor in coffee. As a starting point, use 2 level tablespoons per 6 ounces of water & adjust the amount to suit your preferences.
Benefits of Tea
Green Tea
Lowers ldl cholesterol, thereby lowering the risk of stroke & heart diseases, lowers the risk of cancer, lowers blood pressure, prevents tooth decay, inhibits viruses, fights allergies, & accelerates calorie burning.
Liquorice Tea
Helps heal stomach ulcers, soothes viral liver inflammations, treats diarrhea, headaches, & sore throat, & help the body fight viruses.
White Tea
Helps prevent heart ailments, lowers cholesterol & blood pressure, improve the function of the arteries, help fight cancer by attacking the free radicals, promotes healthy teeth & gums, helps protect the skin from damage, reduces blood sugar & alleviates the symptoms of diabetes.
Whole Leaf Tea
We use whole leaf tea in silk pouches, which provide a more nuanced & complex infusion. Our tea is of considerably higher quality than the fragmented standard supermarket variety, also known as ctc—cut, tear, curl—teas which are made w/ heavily broken tea leaves
Black Tea
Inhibits cancer growth, suppresses inflammation, & fights viruses.
Chamomile Tea
Boosts the immune system, relieves muscle spasms & menstrual cramps in women, relaxes the nerves, soothes the stomach, reduces inflammations, improves liver function, helps relieve back pain & rheumatism.
Tea Care
When brewing black or herbal tea, bring water to a full boil. However, this should be done as quickly as possible because the reduced content of oxygen would result in a flat-tasting tea
Our Organic Coffee
Bean & bean is devoted to serving the best quality beans: we use 100% organic arabica beans & most of our beans are fair trade & USDA certified organic. Our coffee beans are roasted both in-store at bean & bean & a nearby plant.
Espresso Blend

Regular Coffee
Full body, heavily aromatic, balanced. A blend of three types of beans from central & south america.
Organic
Organic farming avoids the use of toxic chemical pesticides or fertilizers. Rather, it places a huge importance on the maintenance of soil fertility & the development of biological diversity. Therefore, organic food products do not contain artificial ingredients & preservatives & are made to maintain the integrity of the food.

Organic Products Meet Stringent Standards
Organic certification is the public's assurance that products have been grown & handled according to strict procedures without persistent toxic chemical inputs. The requirements for organic coffee production include farming without synthetic pesticides or other prohibited substances for three years & a sustainable crop rotation plan to prevent erosion, the depletion of soil nutrients, & control for pests.
Organic Production Reduces Health Risks
Organic agriculture is one way to prevent any harmful chemicals from getting into the air, earth & water that sustain us.
Organic Farmers Build Healthy Soil.
Soil is the foundation of the food chain, & the primary focus of organic farming is to use practices that build healthy soils.
Organic Producers Are Leaders in Innovative Research.
Organic farmers have led the way, largely at their own expense, w/ innovative on-farm research aimed at reducing pesticide use & minimizing agriculture's impact on the environment.
Organic Farming Helps Keep Rural Communities Healthy.
The united states department of agriculture reported that in 1997, half of U.S. farm production came from only 2 percent of farms. Organic agriculture can be a lifeline for small farms because it offers an alternative market where sellers can command fair prices for crops.

Organic Food Tastes Great
Some recently published studies in peer-reviewed journals have shown organic foods to have higher nutritional value. Also, because organic food is grown in well-balanced soil, it makes sense that these healthy plants have a great taste.
Organic Farms Respect Our Water Resources
The elimination of polluting chemicals & nitrogen leaching, done in combination w/ soil building, protects & conserves water resources.
Organic Farmers Work in Harmony w/ Nature.
Organic agriculture respects the balance demanded of a healthy ecosystem: wildlife is encouraged by including forage crops in rotation & by retaining fence rows, wetlands, & other natural areas.
Organic Producers Strive to Preserve Diversity.
The loss of a large biodiversity is one of the most pressing environmental concerns. The good news is that many organic farmers & gardeners have been collecting & preserving seeds, & growing unusual varieties for decades.
Organic Abundance
Now every food category has an organic alternative, & non-food agricultural products are being grown organically as well.
