- DensJuly 24, 2014The soda fountain is stacked with Boylan's fancy sodas -- with means you can make the Mercedes of Soda Suicides™ here (20% creme soda, 20% black cherry, 20% pure cane, 20% root beer, 20% orange)
- Selena NelsonApril 30, 2017Absolutely love this place!! Very clean, organized service, and a great place to grab something quick or have a meal with a group of friends. The Blue Ribbon Chicken Sandwich is their specialty! A++
- The regular fried chicken sandwich is really flavorful. Get that and experiment with all the sauces they have on the tables. And if you get a cola, mix the black cherry and the regular.
- Great "fast food" style fried chicken that doesn't taste like fast food. Nice seasoning and the variety of sauces are excellent. Grab some fries & top with ketchup and chipotle honey. You're welcome.
- The Rancher is crazy delicious esp if you drop some cheddar on that bird. And if you're thinking of the Judy spinach side - Stop it. Stop it right now! Get the fries or regret it for eternity.
- The firebird sandwich is legit. Get it with a small side of fries and ranch, and you’ll be in a happy place.
- Mike WinstonJanuary 6, 2014It’s all about the Honey Sauce at Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken. I sampled the fried chicken thigh and liver & onions during my visit. Read more about it below!! Read more
- I’m a religious once a week customer. Two piece dark, extra thigh, sweet potato fries. The trick is to come here when it’s really busy which reduces the time your chicken spends under a heat lamp.
- Maggie WalshAugust 8, 2013Chicken was incredible - perfectly crispy, juicy and not greasy. Try the mustard honey sauce - great sweet counterpart to the paprika in the rub. Fries are an excellent side! Not too thin, but crispy!
- This place is like a high end fast food joint. A brightly lit, spacious interior with high ceilings and big windows. Keep in mind there's a ton of sauces so fries might be a worthwhile investment.
- TomOctober 3, 2014Fast casual. Their lunchbox is a great deal. Free milkshake w/ Citibike tag (expires Oct 15). One of the best fried chickens in NYC!
- Xz YOctober 19, 2013Great service, love how the boss comes up to reassure if everything is going well. Different sauces to choose from & the chicken is absolutely moist and crispy.
- Erik CintronNovember 1, 2015Simple place that has an open glass view. With some good dry rub chicken. take out or dine in. meal combos & ok prices. Boylan soft drinks & beer. The sauces are Ok but there free.Must do loaded fries
- Much like its Pontiac Trans Am namesake, the Firebird is the muscle car of sandwiches here. Crispy chicken, pickled peppers and spicy chipotle mayo. Red hot.
- Paul TuckerFebruary 14, 2016food is always on point. I never quite know what to order there. the price is a little steep for fried chicken but its fresh so its fine.
- Jerry JosephApril 17, 2015After eating here, I feel like I've been eating fried chicken wrong my entire life! Chipotle honey is great but sometimes the simple Wildflower honey is perfect to let the chicken taste come through.
- Curtis LantonAugust 27, 2013Hands down the best fried chicken I've had in NYC... Ever. Don't order the Royal Wing platter unless you are in major starve mode. Wing pieces are HUGE!
- EvanAugust 1, 2013Breast/thigh combo is A+, necks & backs combo is gnarly in the best way. Go for the potato wedges, pickled peppers, and boxed red wine in a cute cup with a thumb divot (no greasy finger slippage)
- Silas MorriseyJuly 26, 2015This chicken has a nice spicy crust, with a bit of sweetness. The lunch combo comes with a Boylan soda—my favorite drink!
- Brandon DiazDecember 13, 2016The December HOLIDAY HELPER is great!! Could've been served a little warmer and definitely needed more cheese and LESS BBQ sauce. But worth the try!
- Allison KasicOctober 2, 2016The chicken is merely a vehicle for the outstanding array of sauces (chipotle honey is my favorite).
- Jason FeldmanAugust 8, 2013This fried chicken rivals true southern fried chicken. And that's saying a lot. Also, the banana salted caramel ice cream was a truly refreshing blend.
- Cooper SmithOctober 3, 2014While the bacon, cheese and sour cream are awesome additions to the deluxe fries, the true key to their success is the Old Bay seasoning
- Bryant BalatbatMarch 8, 2015This is how you do fried chicken. The small fries with the works was enough food for two. The hush puppies were alright. Make sure to try all their sauces.
- The blue ribbon sandwich is the best deal! It's so delicious with the housemade pickles.... Also, the spinach Judy is the best side of cooked greens I've had in a long time
- L. S.April 27, 2017Ummmm. This place has fried gizzards and livers. You know the fried chicken is legit. Ps: dont miss all the delish (sticky good!) sauces.
- Jason BrewJanuary 14, 2016Have so far only tried the fried chicken sandwich and it was solid. Not as expensive as some of the other fried chicken places in the neighborhood but by not cheap either
- Jenna McCloskeyDecember 3, 2014If you come during lunch, you can get a great lunch deal: a chicken sandwich, soda (boylan's with free refills!), and a ton of crispy shoestring fries for eight bucks.
- Citi BikeMay 3, 2015Incredible fried chicken, an excellent condiment selection, and milkshakes not to be missed! Park your Citi Bike one block north at 2nd St and 2nd Ave.
- Damian BayonaAugust 1, 2016Fast and slightly fancier than your ordinary fried chicken. Blue ribbon sandwich drowned in hot sauce is the way to go 👌🏻
- Serious EatsMarch 18, 2014Find Blue Ribbon Brasserie's wonderful fried chicken is a casual, fast food-style atmosphere.
- Nina LoSchiavoSeptember 15, 2013Potato haven! The fries and the potato wedges with the works were some of the best spuds I've ever had. Strangely enough, the chicken leaves a lot to be desired!
- DensJuly 24, 2014Bring a friend and splitty-split your way thru the sandwich menu. Get at least *something* with bacon.
- Go all-in on the honey (wildflower goes best with saltiness of the chicken). They've got wet naps by the water jug in front for you to clean your hands after you're done.
- Leslie TengFebruary 22, 2016The Kerry's Special was a good balance of sweet and savory. Chicken was tender and bun was soft. Chocolate milkshake was very good and very sweet. At the end, I felt full but not gross.
- Candy CamachoJanuary 9, 2016OMG the fries are amazinggg get them with the works 😋 pretty much everything is amazing here
- Valentina MonteAugust 8, 2013Delicious fried chicken, pickled cucumbers, and banana salted caramel ice cream. Also: secret menu.
- Lou CostelloFebruary 22, 2018Two legs and two thighs with Mac and cheese with a sprinkle of bacon on the top. Oww wee it was good
- Bryan MortensenAugust 8, 2015The boneless tenders are amazing with any of the sauces. This might be the best fried chicken I've ever had.
- Lunch special: lunch boxes for $8. Your choice of sandwich or wings. Plus fries. Plus drink. #score!!
- The Bird is the word. A bit pricey for fast food but damn it's good. I limit my visits to once a month.
- Beau MackJune 25, 2019Chicken has excellent flavor , the staff are polite and by far is thee best location compared to the other
- Sean M AaronJanuary 13, 2014I got down with some drumsticks and I had a solid experience. Sauces should win a best supporting condiment award because they really brought the meal home.
- Andy CatchAugust 9, 2013If you're not sure what to order, just order a whole bird (8 piece), some slaw and fries. You can't go wrong. It's delicious.
- This isn't KFC or Popeye's. And that's a good thing. However, the chocolate Bruno isn't the dessert you're accustomed to at other blue ribbon establishments - great ice cream flavor none the less.
- Brandon F.March 3, 2015Albeit's price (it is Chelsea after all), you can't go wrong here. The Firebird will punch you in the FACE. Highly recommended.
- Stefan HeiseFebruary 2, 2014It's simple- like all of the Broombergs restaurants- This place is amazing. Everything was perfect. Go dark meat!
- Aaron MajcherAugust 17, 2013The ice cream is pre-packed and kind of small for the cost. I would recommend skipping and hitting up a nice cream sandwich at Meatball Shop instead.
