Diverse book selection focusing on race, politics, class, and gender—not just “dead-white-guy literature.” They also have awesome merchandise from cool artists, vegan baked goods, and free condoms!

My late grandfather would describe this bookstore as "commie;" therefore, I like it. Good selection to raise your social conscience. Variety impressive considering store's small size.

Come with cash. Some books are sold with all proceeds going to a particular movement. Don't miss out just because you only have a credit card on you!

It’s an independent bookstore, café and activist center, and it’s one of the few Bowery joints that hasn’t felt the brunt of a rapidly changing neighborhood.
