I have a job that takes me to hundreds of places all over the world. These are but simple recommendations that are tried and true. I wouldn't steer you wrong.
Brandon F.: This place is packed full of specialty candies, teas, sodas, beers, wines, soups and specialty salads and sandwiches. Order something and kick back across the street and people watch.
Brandon F.: They have a plethora of original arcade games here that will take you back. Beat your woman at air hockey, grab handful of Skittles for a quarter and throw them at her one by one to mock her. Winning.

Gourmet Store · West Village · 50 tips and reviews
Brandon F.: They have a plethora of different teas and coffees here and the owners and staff are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable on their stuff. This is a must visit.
History Museum · Downtown East · 46 tips and reviews
Brandon F.: Not what you'd expect. This should be the first place you go if it's your first time in Minn. Their tour is phenomenal and their staff has a plethora of knowledge. A perfect slice of Americana.
Brandon F.: Their American music selection is seriously lacking. No U2 or Red Hot Chili Peppers? I made it through with REM and Aerosmith... but only when I was shitfaced. Cheap and convenient. Go with a local.
Brandon F.: Cruise here on the weekdays to avoid the crowds. The shops that sell sake have awesome variety and don't forget to visit the waterfall and dip your feet into their natural hot springs.
Brandon F.: Nine to five is the busiest time here. Weekends are most likely the best to sit in the park across the street and people watch. Once you're through, cruise through Snake Alley.
Vegan and Vegetarian Restaurant · 97 tips and reviews
Brandon F.: You're going to see people sporting Tom's and Crocs; it'll also most likely smell of patchouli oil, but it doesn't mean this vegan food isn't awesome. I recommend the Cajun Seitan sammich.
Italian Restaurant · Cobble Hill · 11 tips and reviews
Brandon F.: Giuseppe greeted me warmly and was extremely personable. Quite possibly the best gnocchi I’ve tasted outside of Italy. Sent me on my way with fresh rolls free of charge. I’ll definitely be back.
Brandon F.: To come here is to truly explore upstate’s incredible history and its appreciation of the arts. Come see the home that Frederic Church built in all its amazing glory. The guided tour is worth it.
Brandon F.: It’s as everyone else has stated... the pastrami Reuben is an edible orgasm. Well, that was my take. I needed a whole roll o’ napkins when I finished.

French Restaurant · Boerum Hill · 118 tips and reviews
Brandon F.: I worked for the Ritz Carlton for ten years and I can attest to the level of professional service this place provides. The food is also noteworthy. Highly recommend the crème brûlée French toast.
