- My favorite bar I'm Hayes Valley. A Saturday afternoon sitting at the table by the window with some of your best friends drinking a brass smash is the only way I want to live my life
- I still miss Marlena's. I do like the new decor though- and they kept the Santa collection! The drinks are good, staff nice enough. It attracts a crowd that feels sort of like the Marina, but it's ok.
- EaterOctober 31, 2013Brass Tacks ups the ante at Sunday Brunch with a DJ who spins classic R&B hits while patrons enjoy chicken & waffles (which usually sell out), stuffed brioche French toast and pork belly & grits.
- Awesome to sit at the window w a cocktail and people watch Hayes Valley walking by ...
- Trust your bartenders; they know their stuff. The list is EXCELLENT & spirit-forward, but if nothing appeals (and it's not crazy), give them a spirit and maybe a flavor you like, and let them go.
- John KhuuDecember 17, 2015This is that kind of place that is cozy and big enough to converse with friends or the people around you. Also they serve hot toddy's!
- Matthew ScottJuly 8, 2013Serious drinks, serious decor. And by serious I mean they really put effort I to it all. A great replacement to Marlena's as my Hayes Valley watering hole
- Bring in food from the food trucks in Octavia Green and do brunch here. The best Bloody Mary in the neighborhood.
- Jennifer YipSeptember 16, 2014fantastic cocktails! gets a bit crowded near the front, tons of space near the back! don't get your hopes up in finding some place to sit though.
- Liz McLean KnightSeptember 14, 2016The cocktails skew a little too sweet for my taste and the crowd is a bit bro-y. Two Sisters down the street has excellent cocktails and a more refined crowd.
- They do carry some nice belgian beers such as Rochefort 6 & Bernardus Abt 12 (among others). Very friendly staff & great vibe. Great floor :-)
- Great place to go after suppenkuche for a decent cocktail. Almost never busy.
- ShinaDecember 18, 2017Wow does this place get crowded easily. Great vibe and drinks during downtime, can get pretty overwhelming at peak times.
- Fun spot to grab a great cocktail in Hayes Valley. It can get very packed at night.
- Brad TJanuary 2, 2015Hit and miss cocktails but the staff are nice. It's tradition for us on new years day.
- Paul FarrellOctober 11, 2015Good beer list. Local watermelon saison brew definitely worth a try,but not a session beer.
- Hunae JohnsonJanuary 25, 2015The ambiance is very nice and the bathrooms are clean. Plus, they can make a good old fashioned.
- John KiechelAugust 17, 2013Get there early and get a window seat. Also, try the "on her Majesty's secret service" cocktail. Yum!
- the $10 cocktails are really good, I also like the whiskey sour. so tasty!
- Ben GianniniAugust 17, 2014Get some bar seats by the front window. Fabulous craft cocktail and beer list.
- Aman ManikOctober 11, 2013My new haunt in Hayes Valley. Love sitting in the back with the booths. Friendly staff.
- Friendly bar staff, good atmosphere for a post-work drink
- RachelJuly 16, 2013STRONG drinks. Nice bartenders, but the Valley Club and Knife in the Water we had (both baby pink) left something to be desired taste-wise. Not bad, but not Absinthe or Trick Dog, either.
- Great date spot for a weeknight. Stay away on the weekends.
- MartínAugust 26, 2014I'll give you a dollar if you can find the Tito's on the wall in under 5 seconds.
- Super loud, so sit close. Red, white and rosé wine on tap. Rosé on tap will not be ignored.
