- Susan S.April 7, 2015Chocolate babka forever!!! This stuff is dangerous. I could eat copious amounts of their babka. They also had great coffee and it came with a little tiny bite of cake! Very cute lunch spot/bakery.
- Serious EatsAugust 29, 2014Pick up a canelé (or two!) near the register. $3 apiece, with a beautiful caramelized exterior, custardy soft all the way through. Read more
- Nas BenaliMarch 9, 2015The Babka is seriously as good as they say. Buy 2 cuz the second one will be half off and you'll be happy you bought 2. So much variety of delicious breads and pastries.Upvoted Sep 30
- Alex RainertFebruary 26, 2016OMG. Amazing breads, sandwiches, sweet and savory snacks and a chocolate babka that will make you woozy. Go get some!
- ChelseaJuly 11, 2013New York Magazine Cheap Eats issue recommends the Frittata Sandwich. "Ask for it with the works & you get lettuce, tomato, cucumber, mild Gouda, cream cheese, smoked salmon, and a flurry of chives."
- As a big fan of bread, this is the only bakery I love to buy bread. I love their whole wheat bread. It's tasty, with crispy skin, and stays fresh for a long time. Their Babka is worldwide known.
- Nancy KangOctober 6, 2013Just had a sample of their chocolate babka loaf & it's to die for! Nutella, hazelnuts & swiss chocolate! They have delish fresh-baked breads, soups & healthy salads... the bulgar/apple/kale was good.
- David RosenbergFebruary 1, 2015Be a dinner party hero and bring a Breads chocolate babka and a small plate of their macaroons. You will be invited back, probably every week forever.
- Kendall SmithNovember 10, 2013Must get: the chocolate babka. Made with rich Belgian chocolate AND Nutella, it may be the best babka in the world. Head baker gained a cult following in Tel Aviv, and it's easy to see(/taste!) why.
- Amy ShackelfordFebruary 28, 2015As someone who works here and has tried everything, my favs are almond croissants, babka, and cereal bread. If you're there for lunch: go for the avocado sand. Delicious and high quality!
- Chocolate babka! (need I say more?) Actually all the pastries are awesome. I personally love the gouda cheese straws for a savory treat
- Serious EatsMarch 13, 2013An Israeli import with serious rye bread and especially buttery chocolate babka.
- Reagan BarbosaApril 4, 2017The chocolate babka is just as delicious as you're hoping it will be. Their marzipan cookies are also delightful. And great breakfast sandwiches, they season the eggs well.
- I got nothing but love for Breads Bakery! The babka is perfect. Take a box of chocolate Rugelach to go for your family and friends! The babka cheesecake was good but slightly underwhelming.
- Elaine HuiAugust 13, 2015This place is a carb wonderland! I tried and very much enjoyed their chocolate babka, their flakey cheese sticks and sesame covered breadstick. I love you Breads Bakery!!
- Caitlin ClementsFebruary 10, 2013The chocolate rugelach was the most reasonably priced item at $1.50, and was pretty tasty. There was a lively man doling out free samples, so I tried the challah with jam, too.
- Their chocolate BABKA is must get, also the rugelach and all baked goods are the absolute best in the world
- It's the season for hamentashen and Breads version is kick butt good. Tried the Nutella, apple, marzipan and poppy; all were delicious but found the Nutella a touch drier than preferred.
- The flagship location for Breads Bakery. Larger and usually has the best selection. Get an almond croissant for now, another one for later, a babka to share with friends and a couple burekas.
- Paul HanleyDecember 16, 2020Best Bakery in a town. Taste of all products is excellent. Price is reasonable. Pastry is yummy and delicious. Recommended to friends and family.
- Emily ScheerJuly 1, 2016Really yummy unsweetened iced teas and the babka is SO good. We got a whole one for three of us and nearly finished the whole thing!
- JeffreyJuly 20, 2014Scandinavian rye loaves, airy cheese straws, tender poppyseed hamantaschen, city’s best chocolate babka. Sandwich: the harissa-fueled potato-and-tomato-studded Tunisian tuna on house-baked ciabatta.
- This is a great place to stop for a coffee and some baked goods. It's also got a bit of seating if you want to catch up with a friend or even a first date.
- Delicious iced coffee and vegan sandwiches. Go at off hours so there's not a crowd. It's a nice place to sit in the early morning and have a delicious well made easy breakfast.
- The babka was amazing , exactly as described by @seriouseats! Also tried the rugelach .. which was also amazing! ! Will return for more. :-)
- Joseph LFebruary 27, 2016I came for the bourekas. Turns out all of the pastries are amazing. The sleeper is to get the Tunisian tuna sandwich from the counter in the back. It's what dreams are made of.
- Valentina MonteMarch 2, 2015Chocolate (nutella) Babka is my best go-to for the "I need to bring something to this person's home and amaze them with its deliciousness" conundrum. Amazing challah too.
- Tessa ScottJanuary 5, 2018Babkalicious. The best. We ate the entire loaf. Then we ate the cheesecake too.
- Chocolate babka is insane I got all my family and friends hooked. Chocolate chips banana bread is amazing too.
- Bread, sandwiches, pastries everything. It's all consistently incredible. Staff is friendly and pretty quick. Babkas are the star, but try everything.
- Michelle WilesJune 8, 2017Chocolate rugelach is perfect for when you want to save yourself from eating an entire babka (because admit it, you will)
- Malcolm ChangMay 6, 2016The Tunisia sandwich was featured in Eater NY. Chocolate Babka is great, but so is the ruggelach and just about everything else.
- jessica stanchakAugust 13, 2013This place is perfection. Always getting free stuff just by walking in the door. Rugelach and chocolate babka are out of this world. Amazing service too. Get here now!
- The Tastes that Make the CityJanuary 28, 2015The chocolate babka is the best chocolate pastry in NYC, making our list of "The Tastes That Make the City: NYC Edition." Read more
- Celena ChanJune 23, 2015Everyone knows that the chocolate Nutella babka is amazing, but there are other goodies too, like the Jerusalem baguette!
- Sara SotoMay 1, 2013The chocolate babka is amazing- buttery, plenty of chocolate & stays moist (even when left open on a counter)!! If you order coffee at the front register, you have to go to the back to pick it up.
- Sarah F. ParsonsFebruary 25, 2014Yes, chcolate babka is the best i have ever had: BUT: it's also the most expensive! Small longish babka for $12.95! Outrageous. The small croissant/rugellach type mini babkas for 1.50$ each are fine
- Arturo AbundesNovember 7, 2013Very nice chocolate rogalach at a fair price. Nice place to stay for a coffee break too. Snappy guy in the counter though, that may be random though as the otherones are clearly nicer.
- Anne MyersJanuary 16, 2015The mushroom quiche (pictured) is very good. But the chocolate chip cookie is to die for. Seriously heavenly.
- Angela ChungSeptember 10, 2018The chocolate babka is made with Nutella! It was so good I had to bring home an extra one!
- One of my favorite places for a quick bite, a good coffee, and amazingly mind blowing bread. Check it out!
- Natalie LeMossAugust 4, 2021Loved the tuna salad and the coffee was delicious. Perfect spot to meet up with friends for brunch or lunch
