The veggie empanadas were probably some of the best empanadas I've ever had. Cheesy and delicious! Worth going just to try them. Plantain chips with garlic sauce were good too.

Named after the three milks it's soaked in (evaporated milk, condensed milk, cream), the "tres leches" sponge cake here is better than any I've had in NYC and as good as most I've had in Latin America

If you're willing to take the stroll deep into Alphabet City, Cafecito is definitely worth the footwork. Very cozy & casual. The adobo pork is a solid bet. Extremely satisfying & filling.

Cozier than you'd think in the restaurant section but the sandwich side is nice and airy, especially when the weather is nice.

Order off the menu and get the braised lamb shank if they have it. Feeds 2, ridiculously cheap and the best thing on or off the menu.

Spot #1 on Harry's very well planned first date with Alice. Unpretentious Cuban fare in the East Village. #HPlusA

Get the biztec empanizado with white rice and black beans, wash it down with a mojito, and thank me later. You're welcome.

The churrasco is ridiculously good, especially with all the accompaniments. Their picadillo is very flavorful and fresh tasting. Skip the appetizers please!! Grouper ceviche, garlic shrimp is ok.

I know Cuban food. This place has it. Ropa vieja has a deep tangy sweet flavor unlike most ropa viejas in town. Beans on point.

Empanadas were pretty decent, nothing special. I got bamboozled by the server on the supposed "dinner specials" which was not very good and was pricy $$$. I don't get why this place is an 8.8 really..

Food? Delicious! Service? Our waitress was delightful. The drinks were watery, but maybe that's Friday night. The only problem was the petty meanness of the jerk acting as maitre'd.
