Carowinds is the only park that spans across and into two different states! We recommend that you ride Nighthawk and Intimidator first thing in the morning to avoid longer lines!
The rides are a thrill, the food is amazing, and the staff is friendly and courteous. If you want to have a great time at an amusement park, this is the place to go.
Very solid park! The employees were very helpful, the rides very nice, and the variety of choices great! Plus, no roller coasters here require a locker! You can't beat that!
Haven't been to Carowinds in a long time. Last time I went it was still owned by Paramount. The new owners from Cedar Point have really dumped a lot of money into the park and maintained it very well.
Season passes are the way to go. ..four or more you pay less for a season pass than for one full price ticket. Buy the $12.00 drinks bc you get free refills all day and .99 refills all season
Water park is top notch, as are the coasters! Could use a few more flats (though the Scream Weaver is a forever favourite), but all in all an awesome park! Season pass is the way to go, too.
Tired of sweets? The Coca-Cola Oasis, between the Carolina Cyclone and the Hurler, has a selection of fresh fruit. It's good, and the prices aren't super-high.
As someone who frequents Disney, not that bad of an experience. Worth the visit, especially if in the Charlotte area. However, I wouldn’t choose this over a Disney trip.
Pack a cooler with lunch, get your hand stamped and eat in the parking lot. Park food is crazy expensive! Almost $60 to feed Chick Fil A to five of us in the Park, wow!
During late september and all of october, carowinds becomes Scarowinds from 7-12 everynight. They have haunted houses and the all the rides and rollercoasters are open too!
I am in love with the Intimidator...so smooth for those that are apprehensive. It is really high...but a great ride. The power hour is cool too They get you off an on the ride so quickly!
Go when everyone thinks its gonna rain! Few crowds today and the weather is perfect. Cool breezes and plenty of clouds. We couldn't have asked for a better day!!
We went today (Wednesday) and our average wait time in line was about 10 mins. Some rides we walked right in while they were loading. Also free ice water!!!
Before you go, either goto the Bi-Lo up the road in Charlotte on South Tryon ti buy your tix or goto Burger King on Tryon to get a $15 off coupon on Medium or large drinks!
If you buy a season pass (which makes since if you go more then once a year), go for the early entry and you can hit all three major coasters before the park is even open. Read more
There should of been a discount. Charging full price for half a park, that was ridiculous. If the Water park isn't available to the public yet don't rob us.
