- NatalieJuly 15, 2016This castle took 30 years to complete, and it's huge. Get the guided tour and sample reserve wines & do a barrel tasting! Add on a chocolate pairing for only $5 more. One of the best tours we went on.
- Brian JengMarch 20, 2017Large, lovely winery. While it can get very, very crowded, the $25 entrance fee (which includes tastings of 4-5 wines) is quite a good value compared to many in the area. Beautiful castle setting.
- Anna QuintoMay 25, 2015If ur just visiting and not a wine enthusiast this is a great place to visit.. 35USD for a tour inside the castle and brewery and 5 wines to taste.. We love the area and scenery is beautiful!
- _July 29, 2014Definitely worth checking out once in your life. Pretty nifty castle to walk around for free, but it is worth paying $19 for 5 wine tastings.
- Y SSeptember 8, 2017Wow! I can't say how magnificent this place is. It's big outside and even bigger underground. You have to do the tour here and don't forget to call to make a reservation. The tour is so worth it!!!
- Katie GallagherApril 19, 2013You must do the tour! This place is so romantic, beautiful photos everywhere! Our guide Damian Uriarte was FANTASTIC! Funny and full of information! The wines are delicious and grape juice to die for!
- Melissa SDecember 1, 2017The guided tour and reserve tasting is awesome. We came here in the end of November and was lucky enough to have a private tour because it was just us. Jamie aka Mario was amazing as our guide!
- Aysu OzgurApril 1, 2019Tourist trap but beautiful location and the wines weren’t the best but also not bad. Our wine connoisseur, Ashley, was amazing and so sweet! She made the experience great.
- Katie HelmanJuly 24, 2016The first stop on the wine trolley and the tour was included. Make sure to ask for Chris to give you the tour. He is very knowledgable and a great tour guide.
- JoshJanuary 21, 2017Good wine and amazing views. The castle tour is worth the price. A must-see in Napa. Getting the passport is also worth it to save money on tastings from several wineries.
- Take the Calistoga shuttle for $1 or free from Calistoga hotels. Download the “ride the vine app” to schedule a pickup to all Calistoga wineries including the Castle. Way more efficient than Uber
- David RJune 20, 2018One of the best spots in Napa. Take a tour of the castle and enjoy the views. I recommend the Cabernet Sauvignon.
- J A KasilagJuly 5, 2012The view is amazing. I love the sweet wines especially the La Fantasia. My daughter loved the grape juice as well. Next time, we'll do the full tour and visit the dungeon =)
- Brandon CliftAugust 9, 2020Ensure that you seek out Patrick as your host for your tasting. He went above and beyond for our group and paired deep knowledge with a fantastic personality and warmness.
- Chennel WilsonJanuary 10, 2015Gorgeous Castle with lovely details. Patrick our tour guide was awesome. La Fantasia is amaaaaazing. Walked out with 3 bottles 😌
- Gina O.October 22, 2014So worth the trip. Beautiful views, good staff & good tastings. And wait, what? A torture chamber?!?! Crazy & fun. Did I mention the views?? & the goid wines? Would love to come back.
- Jeremy KrantzAugust 14, 2014The property and castle are huge. Gets a bit crowded but definitely upgrade to a premium tasting. Staff is knowledgable. Wines are decent albeit expensive. Scenic and romantic.
- WineryCriticOctober 17, 2013Make sure you allocate at least 2 hours for the tour. Nice idea to upgrade to the reserve tasting or do the cheese plate! Love the reserve room
- Raina SharmaMay 25, 2015Elusive castle view. Guide tour is a must to explore the winery. Carry something to eat if u plan to spend some time.
- Nitzan BOctober 11, 2019Really nice castle ground with nice options and meals if you're interested. The wine was incredible and walk around the ground was lovely
- Rafael RappDecember 19, 2017Beautiful look like castle building with wine tour and tasting. Pricey tough... surroundings have a amazing view.
- Shelly ZordichAugust 20, 2014Take a tour! It's very cool and you get to have your wine tasting in a special bar at the end. The castle is a great place to spend an afternoon!
- Angel FuMarch 31, 2015One of the must go wine tours in Napa. Love their Merlot and Cab. And of course, you love sparking wines, definitely try their La Fantasia.
- Loveland LocalJanuary 15, 2013This castle is as cool on the inside as the outside. Some wine snobs don't care for the Disneyland-ish facade, but unless your a super snob you'll likely enjoy the extravagant architecture.
- Brad DOctober 13, 2013The castle and tasting room are pretty cool - very picturesque. Unless you are really wanting a tour, just get the tasting tickets and walk the ground yourself with the map they give you.
- Jan MickelMay 30, 2019The “General Admission” ticket is kind of a mixed bag, access to many interesting areas is restricted to guided tours, however the wine tasting (choose 5 out of ca 20) itself is a good experience.
- Tiara DelachevrotiereSeptember 30, 2012Definitely pay for the tour. You get to go into secret areas. Buy the chocolate & wine tasting package. Great & unusual place!
- Christopher PestanoApril 27, 2015Winery with an authentic Castle! Insist on trying the "Il Barone" wine even if it's not part of your tasting flight.
- Priya SaiprasadNovember 30, 2013We keep going back for the to die for La Fantasia sparkling wine! If you're into something sweet and refreshing, you won't look past this one!
- DanNovember 4, 2011When doing the wine tasting with your spouse, be sure to choose different wines to taste. They give you the option of giving a splash for each one. After trying 10 different wines we were very happy!
- Pavan KulkarniMay 23, 2016Got the reserve wine with chocolate upgrade. Pretty good castle with lot of wine paraphernalia
- Adam HickeyMay 28, 2012The $33 tour is well worth it! Not only do you learn about the history of the castle, you get to enjoy a tasting of five wines at the end.
- Jenna WojciechowskiJuly 30, 2012We had Tim as a tour guide and he was excellent! I now look at trying new wines in a whole new way!

- Brisena RiveraJanuary 6, 2016Best winery ever!!! Lots of wine and the tour was very fun. Gary the guide was great!!
- LaLa C.November 19, 2012If you're a dessert wine lover, grab yourself a bottle of La Fantasia. This venue would also be perfect for a small wedding. Little Fairy Tale castle.
- John CassilloJuly 4, 2017Great scenery, but rules, lines and prices basically make it Disneyland for wine. Head elsewhere for a better experience and day out.
- Rico PaboritoApril 1, 2015Nice and affordable tour just hope u get lucky to get an accommodating wine "salesman". The one we had was an a-hole!
- Chio InfanteJanuary 10, 2015Fantasia.... A must try if you go wine tasting!! They have organic soaps in the gift shop that smell amazing!!
- Michee LeeApril 13, 2014If you plan to go on the weekend, aim for an early afternoon spot before it gets really busy with tourists later on
- Great experience with knowledge helpful employees. Highly recommend
