- Emily-janeDecember 1, 2017Everything here is DELICIOUS! Perfectly spiced & light. Hanoi BBQ bowl, grilled beef, crab parcels, pho. Great for mid week dinner. Great service. Get there before 8 to beat the queue.
- Bình HàNovember 21, 2014For the love of food, try classic Pho add an egg york, put the egg york into your bowl of Pho and beat it into the broth. This place offer the best/most authenti Pho in London I've ever tasted so far.
- Susanna SooJuly 22, 2015Tried the Saigon Pho with extra tendon, just blew my mind! And the Vietnamese ice coffee is just the right intensity and sweetness too!
- Hannah ParvazFebruary 28, 2016Delicious summer rolls and the bun sa tofu bowl is so good. Lots of vegetarian options, but not in the lunch deal.
- J PowerDecember 22, 2014Pho is good obvlsy but you MUST try the other mains too - and be more adventurous about the appetisers than just getting a usual roll! Bring some time to wait for getting seated during dinner service.
- Eva SchnarrenbergerFebruary 22, 2016Definitely a spot to try but only if you don't mind waiting ! It's usually packed ! The staff is super nice ! They got us free starters because we had to wait so long ❤️
- Petru DimulescuOctober 25, 2015The classic pho is awesome. The brisket is perfect and the atmosphere is cosy. They are a bit slow when it comes to serving (only in the evenings from what i noticed)
- PDT BlogNovember 26, 2016Good food. Try the smoked duck & blossom salad and bun cha. Definitely skip the pho sate, not a pleasant dish at all!!
- Cecilia ChenApril 3, 2015Nice food with good atmosphere. The portion of pork belly is huge and so tasty. Will def go back to try more other main dish. Not so impressed with the beef pho.
- James LittleOctober 11, 2015Very authentic Vietnamese (I'm told by Vietnamese colleagues) try the table griddle beef, chilli salt and pepper softshell crab, Vietnamese curries, not sure if anything here isn't good!
- Natalija TrestinaNovember 18, 2014Absolutely loved this place! Summer rolls with shrimp and papaya, and Bun Sa with chicken were simply amazing! And the plum wine is very yummy too
- A.December 14, 2011No east London food guide is complete without Vietnamese and for vegetarians Cây Tre is up there. Mushroom pho is a good alternative to the meat fave and their unique veg spring rolls are delicious.
- MelJuly 28, 2013Roast pork vermicelli was amazing. Really tender and well seasoned pork. As close to home cooked as you can get, according to someone that knows what that tastes like.
- umi HotelsNovember 25, 2011A very nice touch of Vietnamese food with authentic cuisine. "Phở" (Beef noodle soup) and "Bún thịt nướng" (BBQ Pork Loin with Rice Vermicelli) are winners! Really good value for money, excellent food
- Dasha ButuzovaMay 10, 2015Small and authentic, the restaurant offers true Vietnamese Pho and amazing starters. Very friendly!
- MaríaNovember 20, 2015My mushroom pho was great, although I had the sinking feeling that it was made with chicken broth. Strict veggies/vegans beware!
- The Times and Sunday TimesOctober 1, 2014My favourite of the Vietnamese restaurants down this end of town. The owner is a genial nutter who brings the place alive and plied me with “mock dog” and chicken gizzards with muop. Read more
- Ronald DLJanuary 25, 2020Lively little place with more seating downstairs. Try the duck as a main or have multiple dishes to share
- James BillinghamMarch 9, 2015Best pho I've ever had. They also are very generous with the quantity of beef. I had the classic pho, plus meatballs. Awesome.
- Angela LiuJanuary 13, 2015Very nice vietnamese with a great variety.. I personally think the old street branch is even better than the one in soho
- MelAugust 11, 2014Excellent Pho and noodle bowls. Summer (rice paper) rolls have more lettuce/mint filling than noodles so tasty and healthy.
- Ana LaraFebruary 19, 2015Healthy portions of well cooked food. They have menus including a starter and a soup with the main. Try any of the Pho.
- Simon CornwellJanuary 30, 2014Busy and noisy at lunch... fantastic Pho, friendly service, the kind of place to go with friends just so you can taste more of the menu!
- Cecily McMahonMarch 12, 2014Absolutely phenomenal Vietnamese food, authentic as in Hanoi. Classic pho, chilli pork belly and the aubergine are all top choices.
- Blog On The BlockFebruary 13, 2018Mix it up, go for the 4 mushroom pho but ask for chicken broth rather than veggie 😉
- ZuzApril 16, 2016Great food, nice atmosphere and people that go there. Order sizzling seafood and look out for the owner in a cool hat with pompom
- MaxMarch 5, 2015Great Vietnamese kitchen, nice atmosphere, super friendly and efficient service. What else would you want?
- Harry Earle-MundilAugust 29, 2016Yummy aubergine and tofu rice dish. Impressed that they found a dish for the vegetarian who doesn't like spicy food
- Mette Schou AndersenNovember 8, 2014Summer rolls and chicken pho - delicious. They also have a few must-try non-alc cocktails on the menu
- Simon WillisonApril 16, 2013Really great Vietnamese food, a bit more expensive than the places on Kingsland Road but the menu is exciting and full of excellent tasty things.
- Freddie HarrisonJanuary 16, 2016Really busy, so book ahead. The Okra and Aubergine curry is super spicy but amazingly good.
- Ben RobraJune 8, 2016Very good rice vermicelli and I'm general a very nice place. It can get very busy and noisy though.
- Khan AhmedJuly 7, 2015Been to this place many times over the past 7-8 years and the food is still awesome... still a little cramped inside..!!
- Vic VuMay 26, 2018I love this place! I think it has the best pho I’ve ever tried and I’m Vietnamese !
- Michael AmbjornAugust 21, 2016Nice little Vietnamese place on two levels - bring a friend or five - and share some of their tasty classics.
- Adam KFebruary 8, 2015Wow best Pho I've ever had. Really, after living in Asia for 7 years I found Vietnamese heaven in London
- BlondieNovember 2, 2014Perfect resturant - very nice staff, delicious and healthy food and the prices are not to high.
- The GuardianApril 25, 2012"You could spend a long time trying to discern exactly what has gone into the clear, light broth that makes Cay Tre's pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) stand out..." Read more
- This place has some of the best Vietnamese good in London, and ginormous portions.
- Top, high quality Vietnamese. Replaced Tay Do as my favourite due to their audacious price hike.
- Richard ParkerJuly 1, 2010Love, love, love Cây Tre. Usually have to wait a couple of minutes for a table but always well worth it. Great food, busy atmosphere, fun times.
- Owen GriffithsApril 12, 2012Get the chilli pork chop on jasmine rice. It's the best thing to eat for miles around.
- Ali BSeptember 25, 2018Not as good as Soho branch - less atmosphere & plates cleared whilst we were eating in an empty restaurant. There are far better Vietnamese restaurants in the area if you venture a little further.
