This is a restaurant with focus: smoke, meat, and whiskey. The amber liquor flows freely, with a giant selection sourced from around the world - American bourbon, Scottish Scotch, Japanese whiskey. Read more

One of the few places I've eaten regularly at in NY. Get the pork nuggets, beer/burger pairing, shrimp and grits, pimiento cheese. They also have awesome bourbon cocktails and whisky tastings.

Amazing whiskey and bourbon selection and fantastic pork products. The crispy fried pork nuggets are fantastic and the cheese curbs with a spicy pimento dipping sauce are last meal worthy.

The fried green tomatoes and deviled eggs are out of this world. We got two orders of each, if that tells you anything. Also, their hot toddies are the best I've ever tasted.

Poached eggs with cheese grits! AHHHHHH!!!! I've never had anything like it. Spicy, cheese, bacon 👊. Small though, share it with someone getting the pancakes. ;-)

The bacon in the Chef's Breakfast is thick and delicious! The brunch special is only $22 for a drink, app and one of three entrees, diggity dank

Pulled pork sandwich -> not too sweet, not too messy, not too expensive, perfect. Tastes so good with one of their house aged bourbons cocktails.

Brooklyn (Carroll Gardens): The brunch potatoes are incredible, or so we hear, and so is everything else! Food is about $10 – $15 or choose the Prix Fixe meal for just $16!

Brunch is perfect here. Get the pork nuggets, buttermilk biscuit, brisket BBQ, and pulled pork and crispy grits. I didn't even need to add salt to anything.

The whiskey/scotch selection is one of the best if seen. The menu is homey and delicious. I can't recommend Char more highly. Glad to have another neighborhood go to.

We love the Classic Cask 20 year, but at $150 for 2oz, it is a little pricey. For something splendid without the high price, try the Woodford Reserve. If whiskey isn't your thing, they also have wine.

New Years Day brunch was delicious! The fixed price is the best deal. Our waitress was still under the influence of several substances from the night before.

If you order the house-cured bacon, espect pork belly. Pass on the buttermilk pancakes, unless you have three people to share the plate with you. Biscuits benedict and shrimp grits are good.

This is a fab place to celebrate a birthday. Just ignore your babushka when she says not to order her anything, or else she'll be picking off everyone else's plates the whole time despite her "diet."

Chef's breakfast looked promising, but under-delivered. Only thing keeping this place from earning a zero was the Bloody Mary. And to top is all off the waiter was bizarre and increasingly creepy.
