If you are at midway, i would recommend the airplanes. They are very large and will get you to your destination quickly.

The slider place by B19 requires a 20 min wait as they cook to order and you can't mix and match. A sign stating these things would be helpful.

Terminal B, the Taylor Street Market is a decent, healthy-ish option in a sea of fast food.

TSA TIP #1: Before getting to the screening check points clean out your clothing pockets as well as any metals/jewelry etcetera and put them into your carryon bags (or jacket pockets) ahead of time.

TSA TIP #5 Once through the x-ray machines take your belongings (trays) off the belts & get re-packed & dressed in the areas designated for this rather than holding up the lines at the x-ray machines.

Use curbside check in. Or, bring a carry on and head straight to the center departures doors to go right to the escalators to security.

TSA TIP #4 When loading your belongings onto the x-ray belts load them in an order to help expedite at the other end. THINK, (a) suit case first, (b) laptop bags/purse, & (c) your shoe & belts tray.

Illinois Bar and Grill is MDW's best kept secret. Breakfast is AMAZING and the burgers only get better. Also serve beer earlier than most here. :-)

Much more convenient than O'Hare to Chicago (Loop and surrounding areas) if you take the El rather than a taxi

Love the chairs with chargers in the seats! You can charge your electronics and sit at the same time! Makes long layovers a little better.

You can bring your empty water bottle through TSA; there are several filtered water stands throughout the terminals to fill it up before you board. #Hydrate

All bars and food places are inside security. So, when u have to retrieve your bag, but then have to wait for your friends flights to arrive, u have to wait at bag claim, hungry and sober.

Airport staff are never very pleasant but I found the staff at Midway to be extra bad. From security staff to the staff at the food vendors, everyone was incredibly rude. Prepare to be yelled at a lot

You can't bring bottled water with you through TSA; however you CAN bring an empty water bottle. Pack one in your carry-on so that you can fill it up at the water fountain before you board.

Named for its location mid-way between IL's two busiest commerce hubs of the 19th c., Kankakee and Dekalb. Formerly a grandiose bus station, Midway International is Chicago's only functioning airport.

Instead of the cell phone lot, use the short-term parking which leaves you just steps from the arrivals and meet your party in person as they get in. It's only $2 for a half hour of $4 for one hour.

Use the curb side check in if you're here around 4:30, as the line is way shorter since the ticket counters don't open until then, to avoid the long lines inside.

Need to power up? If on Concourse A, head to the Traveler Center just past McD's. There is an outlet conveniently next to one of the phone booth stations. Makes the perfect desktop for working :)

The "no carry-on bag" express security line is only worth it if there's an open security lane dedicated to it. If it all directs to all lanes, just pick the shortest line.

It's best to eat in the food court because there is little to choose from elsewhere. In bust periods there can be a shortage of gate area seating.
