Checking into security was a breeze and I got to keep my leftover Giordano's pizza. Need a charge? They've got plugin spots.
V FJune 1, 2013The ticketing line for Southwest always seems to be significantly longer and slower than the others.
If flying Southwest and you're being dropped off, park further away and the TSA's don't harass you as much so you can say goodbye longer.
Arrive early! Major construction at Baggage Claim doors and escalators to Ticketing and Gates.

mtnbkeAugust 21, 2010Southwest does it right! There is scarcity of outlets in this airport and they put in a bunch of seats with outlets at their gates!
TSA Pre check is the way to go. It's worth it any time of day - regular security check is always a long wait. Not because of TSA, just people galore, always!
Grab an omelette @ Harry Caray's: they compete w/ all the fancy breakfast joints in Chi & you can be in and out in less than 25 mins.

Illinois Bar & Grill near Concourse B serves really nice, thick cut bacon at breakfast :)
Go to Reilly's Daughter for a beer. Be sure to grab a couple of Chicago dogs next door first.
If you have a early AM flight. Get here at least 90 minutes prior to your check-in. Wait for security 30 minutes.
Gah, I sat on a slimy piece of green pepper. Unacceptable. Get it together midway.
The security checkpoint closes from 12AM-3AM. If you're here early enough, the airport staff will give you a cot to sleep on in Terminal C.

Best place grab a bite is at Potbelly's when right at the hub of all the concourses/security line
Arrive WAY early if you don't have TSA Pre check. The line at 7am looked like it would take over an hour (?). TSApre took like 10 minutes.

If you need to charge up, follow the signs to gate A4- there's a large, hidden charging station just before the long carpeted concourse area begins.

Midway security is equivalent to that of a 3rd world country. The lines are insane, and there's no organization!
If your flight leaves from gate A4A... don't be late because it is a journey to get to from TSA.

Pull up Uber and drop your pin right outside the airport. Then call your driver to pick you up at arrivals.- Southwest counters open at 3:30am. TSA PreCheck opens at 4:15am.

Gannon HesterJune 2, 2011Frontier is great! Upgrade your seat to stretch seating! It's only 20 bucks and makes a huge difference. Plus you get to board first!
If your gate is A4a or A4b don't wait until the last minute to get there from the main building. It is quite a walk.
