David K: Fantastic steak pie. Comes with great chips. I'm also a big fan of the gammon

David K: Queue at bar often long. Buy the double pints.

David K: Fantastic hotel. Great breakfast. Good quality wifi (for a hotel)

David K: Sneak a hip flask in. £10 a glass of wine.

David K: Don't expect to find a train.

David K: Burritos are excellent. Try the cholua hot sauce on the tables.

David K: Try the cowboy supper

David K: Burgers. The dirty burger in particular. It had bacon fries in it. Outrageous

David K: Good weddings
17. Bella Mamma Restaurant
David K: Good service. Great waiters and very good price. The potato skin starter was great and oddly for an Italian the chips were incredible.

David K: Fantastic brownie. Nice atmosphere and good coffee
19. Leonards Coffee House
David K: Great chicken and bacon sandwich. Quite cosy and not enough outdoor seating but generally a nice place for a sandwich and some coffee.
20. The Dun Cow Inn
David K: Great pork pies and a good Monday quiz
21. The Market Tavern
David K: Nice atmosphere and recently been refurbished. Possibly the warmest bar this side of Dubai. Slightly over priced since the refurb though. £3+ for a john smiths.
22. The New Inn
David K: Giant burgers for low low prices. Always has great sport coverage. Has a decent outside area as well.
23. Head of Steam
David K: Great selection of beers and one of the better crowds on north road.
24. Durham Outdoor Market
David K: Great cheeses, cakes, burgers and photography for sale. Always worth a quick look on a weekend.
25. Post Office
David K: Does what it says on the door. Let's you post letters. Bit scruffy but the shops getting on a bit. Staff are kind and helpful.
26. Paxton's Sandwich Bar
David K: Great chicken tikka sandwich. The pie and lasagne is good as well. In fact it's all great and the staff are helpful as well.
27. Gala Theatre
David K: Great comedy and stand up nights. Reasonably priced in a modern comfy venue.
28. Zizzi
David K: Nice pizza although Durham has many other great more authentic independent Italian restaurants.
29. Chapters of Durham
David K: Excellent people watching if you can get a seat at the window. Good coffee and sandwiches. Meant to sell good ice cream as well.
30. Durham Cathedral
David K: World heritage site. Incredible attraction to visit. Climb the tower (you have to pay) and take in some good views. Cafe is also great.
