- Taylor KinsellaSeptember 13, 2013Vino volo is a perfect place to hang out if you have a bit of a layover. Great wine and the food isn't expensive! Penne and cheese for 7$
- Some restaurant options beyond central gate entrance area. Prices reasonable at about typical restaurant levels so long as you don’t buy food or snack from newsstands at inflated prices.
- Dulles is the largest airport for no discernible reason I have ever visited. There are several restaurant options, and the airport is nice enough. It is a huge airport, though.
- Christopher MaloneJune 26, 2013Longest security line I've ever seen by a factor of 10. Amazing really. Definitely arrive 90 min early so you don't miss your flight too.
- Neil CJune 14, 2017Definitely the best of the US airports. You don't have to redo security if you have a connecting flight and lots more facilities in the terminal.
- Vasundhara RayOctober 4, 2014Although they have free wifi, I found it somewhat difficult to access. After trying for quite sometime I was able to.
- The airport is deceivingly large. Be sure to add a little extra time if you are flying out of the D gates as the busses run a little slower than the trams.
- Raquel HenrySeptember 3, 2012Really nice airport. I love the mini gallery once you enter Gate C. There is now free wifi so no use to paying for AT&T or the other one.
- One of my favorite US airports. Nice restaurants, good gift shopping and most importantly free wifi.
- Melissa CrookJuly 4, 2011If you are hungry before or after your flight, go to California Burrito. They have food options for everyone. I am vegan and they have a vegan burrito that's delicious!
- M. R.September 24, 2012A note for those looking for good deals at the Duty Free shops: You won't! The prices here are generally higher than what you can find at other airports. Free WiFi though!
- Spoon CarvalhoJune 12, 2017Huge Airport. Make sure you use the tram system to get from terminal to terminal.
- Lori GreenfieldSeptember 1, 2015COSI is the best place to grab something quick for breakfast. Reasonable pricing for an airport, and the croissant sandwiches are huge and are very good!
- Arnaldo G. Miguel JrFebruary 7, 2015In fact, one of the most beautiful and comfortable airports in the world!
- Ahmed BasmairOctober 26, 2017This is a sad day for us. It is our last day in theUSA. We will be back one day. Great people and lovely places.
- MuratSeptember 17, 2022Big hub for United. International arrivals is a bit confusing if you have a connecting flight, but get to your flight. Very busy airport and crowded. Shopping and eating areas are limited.
- Erh@nAugust 12, 2014Train transfer to the int.departures. i travelled a lot for smoke breaks and pass the pass.control 3 times without problem. Free wifi, good lounges.
- For international arrivals plan on 60-90 minutes to ride train or shuttle to main terminal and get through customs. Add another 30 to get to your car in the economy parking lot. Welcome to the USA!
- If you are taking a flight that will mean you need to pass through security before 5am...get there extra early. The beefed up Security crew doesn't come online till about 5am!
- Liz LunaMay 31, 2013Always come early, all the terminals are clearly labled but the airport is very large and it's a hike to get from one side to another.
- Ha1thamFebruary 5, 2018Great airport, its old but the design is well thought of, clean bathrooms everywhere. 👍🏼
- Although long walk, I like that Terminals C and D are connected, and about four United Clubs in between them!
- Guido GybelsSeptember 2, 2016If arriving on an ESTA with a passport previously used with ESTA, using machines = much quicker immigration process. Baggage handling is often slow. Your bag may appear on the floor next to the belt.
- Schedule yourself around rush hour the morning and late afternoon traffic around hear is a full-on methadone withdrawal induced NIGHTMARE.
- The KLM lounge now offers a pesca-pescatarian choice. It's about time.
- JD MaloneSeptember 9, 2017Security here is a nightmare. Arrive plenty early for your flight or you will be screaming by the time you board your flight.
- Fuddruckers is a great place for breakfast.. Specially the egg, cheese and bacon sandwich :) comes with a hash brown!
- Tian FangMarch 23, 2015Welcome to the capital of the United States! Please appreciate the honor of the fact that the DC airport is literally located in VA...
- Moe's near the C gates has a pretty decent breakfast. The Bloody Mary can be fairly strong, which is how it should be.
- Michelin Travel & LifestyleAugust 13, 2012Booking a hotel? Quoted rates do not include Washington DC's substantial hotel tax of 14.5%. For example, a quoted room rate of $139, will actually cost $159 for a nights stay. -- Green Guides Editor
- Philip HeJanuary 6, 2017There is no mobile walkways in the concourse. It will be a very long walk from one side to get to the other.
- It's a large airport with a lot of distance between gates. Make sure you leave yourself enough time from dropping off your rental car to your flight.
- Stephanie WilliamsJuly 28, 2013The staff here is amazing, including customs!! They actually smile, joke and have fun! Made visiting here easy and not stressful
- Yasser MonkachiSeptember 1, 2013If your hungry try the Tomato-Basilic-mozarella aka TBM Sandwich in the COSI Resto, a must taste !
- Security here is a well coordinated ballet, but there's a large mix of nationalities, which make for long wait times during rush hours. Be smart and arrive early.
- ToneJanuary 2, 2015Free wifi and quick checkin and security. The Air France lounge is chilled with complimentary alcohol
- Parking is pretty convenient but cab to DC is pricey. TSA lines can get long but never spend more than 30 mins in them. Although I have had spent hours in immigration check lines many times. :(
- NanaSeptember 17, 2016The train thing is really weird. Airport is old and so there isn't much there. If you're at D gate go to potbelly sandwich and get an Italian 😋
- Get there early, security can be a pain and getting to your gate can take time as well.
- Everything about Dulles is great. Easy access, easy parking and easy gates.
- Hesham Al SaudJuly 6, 2014One of the best airports in the world. I like the cleanliness, the atmosphere and the resturants!
- Please make sure your traveling dogs are trained. Not fun having 3 dogs getting into a barking contest in the main terminal. Other than that it’s a gorgeous terminal.
- Jacquinn ScalesSeptember 24, 2014Had an awesome time hanging in DC yesterday and now it's time to say goodbye bye. This is random but I like boarding these little express jets, it be making a brotha feel all presidential and stuff.
- Add (decent) shopping options (e.g., Pink, mom-and-pop boutiques, make up stores, even a CVS)
- DCA-Regan is easier to navigate but Dulles has more coast-to-coast directs. Expect bumpy landing due to strong winds!
- Amy LewOctober 11, 2011If you're in Terminal C, head all the way back to C2 and eat at Potbelly's. Beats all the food closer to the AeroTrain. Also, now with Free WiFi!
