They have these big giant metal things with wings that fly!! Like magic.
- Eva 🐾 BanovaOctober 9, 2014Not impressed with the airport. Very few shops stay open 24hours so if you have an overnight flight, you're screwed. There are charging stations which is a plus, but definitively not enough.
Behind the gates there are huge planes that take you to many places around the world, don't miss them!

Dulles is located at 1 Saarinen Circle, named for it's architect, Eero Saarinen. If you stop by DAG you'll see several pieces designed or inspired by Saarinen like our "Conversation Pit."

Don't buy from the newsstand (apparently named "newsstand") by baggage claim #4. Mixed nuts, jerky, and a water for over $15. Gfy.

Leave lots and lots of time to clear security. It's very slow. The train doesn't go to the D terminal and doesn't really go to C either, it goes a couple hundred yards past and you have to walk back.
Give yourself a lot of extra time. First it can take forever to get to the airport. Then a lot of time to get to your gate. Everything is spread out.
Briana BaileyJuly 11, 2019No a/c, super hot and it took forever to get to the far D gates. The train dropped me at the beginning of the C gates and so you have to walk all of the C and D gates with no moving walkways

The airport is really large, but the signage will keep you moving in the right direction without having to stop.

CBP staff are beyond rude and entitled. They act as if visitors are up to something and woe betide you if you are anything but 100% impressed with their authority.
Vino volo at B gates is a nice wine bar. Menu is better than BA lounge.

Seats in Terminal B are super comfy to sit in...super UN-comfy to sleep in.

Monday morning 7:00 AM flight after Thanksgiving: start of security line through x-ray machines totaled 35 minutes. Plan accordingly!

The people mover is faster traveling from A to C&D the train is just so dreadfull!
Huge ass airport. Get here early so you are not stressing out. Lines are long at security
Get a combo massage at the massage bar near gate B67. 25 minute massage for 39.50.
Black bean burger at Au Bon Pain is good even if you're not a vegan

Might I suggest Preferred Access? This airport is always bustling!
The new security lines and train are excellent, very easy to get around!
