You can order (for delivery!) vegan pizza -- at a decent price to boot. (Well, compared to alternatives like Pete's...) Also, for folks out on the town: They serve vegan jumbo slice.
The chefs here are artists (seriously: the vegan shrimp basket will blow your mind)...and not too many folks seem to know it. This is a great not-so-hidden hidden spot to take folks to.
Vegan smoothies, vegan parfait options, quinoa muffins, great coffee, local art, locally owned...Holy smokes this place rocks.
Juice Truck! Support these awesome people: They'll give you amazing, fresh kale juice and other goodies. Moderate-ish price but super healthy servings...!
It's awesome to be at a place and be able to eat almost everything on the menu: vegan hotdogs, chili, vegan options everywhere. Plus, good beer & tables made of pinball machines. This place rocks.
There's a learning curve for your first trip, but the payoff in food quality, variety, and serving sizes makes this 100% worth it (and a return visit).
Expensive smoothies, but worth it. (One of the few spots in the city to score green smoothies outside of your own kitchen.) And, in case you're wondering, Java Green > Cafe Green, but same mgmt.
Finally made it in here, thanks to DC Meat-Free Week. All the food was incredibly fresh (you can taste the corn - real corn - in the tortillas) and the dishes super welcoming to the veggie palate.
Elizabeth's might be $$$, but the food is creative, the presentation is classy but unpretentious, and the kale chips are to die for. Save up and give this place a try. Absolutely worth it.
Hidden gem a stone's throw from Howard: Great, creative selection of vegan and vegetarian friendly options. Killer outdoor seating. Awesome staff. Check it out.
