- A classic LA venue. Leave your gum behind, be nice to the security guards, and don't forget to look up at the ceiling in between bands. Almost every view's a good one here.Upvoted Oct 14
- Jon MenagerAugust 23, 2017Charming theater with some fairly strong drinks. Price was fair! I like how the sides of the room are slightly raised for us shorter people. 😂 Saw Mike Stud perform here and loved it!Upvoted 3 weeks ago
- Lili KoponenOctober 10, 2014Smallish venue. If you don't want to get super close to the stage, post up behind the barrier around the room for a pretty unobstructed view of the stage.

- Lauren :DOctober 22, 2015This is one of my favorite venues in LA. Not too small, but not big at all. Chairs available if you get there early. Stand near the sound booth.
- Winnie KhooMarch 11, 2017Great venue for intimate concert with your fave band; can grab Mexican food from El Cartel and drinks from bar

- SPINJuly 22, 2011El Rey is one of LA’s best mid-size venues. Jollett of the Airborne Toxic Event says he’s never seen a bad show here. More importantly, “it’s one of the few places in LA that actually has class.”
- John KiddeOctober 20, 2016Nice small venue, bar behind the entrance is usually less crowded. Parking structure nearby is probably your best bet, if you're driving.

- BravoDecember 2, 2010Mid-sized concert venue that has the best of the new music coming through. Get tickets when you can. Don’t worry who is playing, it will be great. -Mark Peel, Top Chef
- Classic venue that is transformed into a mosh pit hall & a church on Sunday
- One of the best live venues in LA. If you can get a spot in front or behind the soundboard, it'll sound even better.
- nikkiDecember 12, 2016like putting lipstick on a pig. it still looks like a tacky banquet hall! that step around the dance floor is an absolute hazard. not bad for sit-down comedy, though.
- DJ TimesJuly 26, 2013During our June 2013 feature interview with EDM act Disclosure, member Howard Lawrence, noted that their Halloween show at El Rey Theatre was one of their favorite shows of 2012!

- Avoid paying those dreaded Ticketmaster fees! If it's not an instant sell-out show, buy your tickets at Origami Vinyl ($2 per ticket fee, cash only) or direct from the El Rey website ($5/ticket.)
