Amaury J. • April 28, 2017Beautiful gardens on the side of the Edinburgh Castle. Great for a stroll, a nap, or a picnic. Beautiful and peaceful area in the middle of the city.
Rachel K. • July 1, 2016What a beautiful, quiet, non-crowded castle (much better than Edinburgh Castle, in my opinion). Truly explore and discover all the nooks.
Matt T. • November 12, 2014Mere minutes from the centre of the city with a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere to breathe it all in. You can see almost from edge to edge. Relatively easy climb with stairs.
Bart W. • August 27, 2012Delicious food (had Kimbab (김밥) and Chicken Bulgogi (닭 불고기)! : )) and the staff is very friendly : ))) It was so nice and quiet - definitely I'll be back : ))
Danielle B. • May 26, 2017Lovely! The tiny & excellently-curated bookshop is full of Scottish stories & fairytales; I wanted to buy everything! Also nice, quiet cafe that donates proceeds to charity, & sweet garden in back.
Hannah R. • April 27, 2010Lovely quiet garden, lots of places to sit, and just off the Royal Mile - opposite the Starbucks at Canongate.
Chris M. • November 27, 2023Too cramped and is probably never quiet enough to enjoy a laid back pint which is unfortunate as they had a decent beer selection
Una • April 27, 2016Amazing place! Atmosphere is very chilled and peaceful, quick service and delicious food.
Tuğçe E. • September 6, 2012A lovely, peaceful place to have a cup of tea. Rhubarb pie is highly recommended.
Alex B. • January 3, 2016Stunning Apple Store; spacious, quiet, with a couple of unique details. A rare enclosed stone staircase, and a small rounded window.
Julie W. • November 2, 2019Building and gallery are wonderful to wander around quietly. Cafe lovely for tea or lunch
t • August 1, 2014Such a great complex, around 30 minutes walking distance from Princes Street and in a nice quiet location. Definitely a place to recommend. You can also book a secure parking bay underground for £12.
Georgia A. • November 9, 2012Considerate cooking, great energy and passion. They really care about sourcing their ingredients well, and have a relaxed but quietly refined approach. Good food, good atmosphere and good company.
Steph • September 24, 2013DEFINITELY a must do. The view is amazing, the surroundings are calming, and the hike isn't too strenuous, so everyone can do it!
Cleber F. • October 4, 2017Loved the place. It’s a unique guest house. The staff is very nice and helpful. The house is beautiful and very cozy and quiet. The guest house is bit far from the main attractions, 20 min walk.
Adam M. • April 26, 2017Quiet setting, with superb cocktails and knowledgeable, passionate staff. Candles on every table add to the ambience. Great spot on its own or for waiting for a table across the street at el cartel.
Timothy B. • October 10, 2015Great fresh sour-dough breads, and a tasty selection of home baked donuts and pastries. Best in the neighbourhood.
Ian • June 15, 2018Quieter than the Standing Order, so much easier to find a seat. Good value food and drinks too
G. C. • April 22, 2018This is a fantastic ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotel and a perfect antidote to the scrum of the fringe. A real oasis of calm and comfort after a long day of theatrical experiences. Same time next year? 😉
