Some of the best BBQ in New York and one of our favorite places grab a bite before hitting a show at the Knitting Factory. Just make sure to get there early because there is always a line.

Expect to wait. Too close to the Bedford stop, so it gets the NJ tourists. But it's absolutely incredible BBQ--perhaps the best in the city--and has some great beers to wash it down.

A former ironworker’s shop that serves some of the best BBQ north of the Mason-Dixon. Order the smoked prime rib medium rare and sit at a picnic table, take in the butchery charts and dig in.

The pulled pork was a bit dry, and the three sauces (vinegar, sweet, and spicy) were all a bit lackluster. I liked the experience, but the food was lacking. Burnt End beans were very good.

The pulled pork, sausage links, and baked beans are to die for. No line if you come on a rainy day, otherwise be prepared for it to wrap around to the sidewalk. Well worth it.

The pulled pork shoulder is the regular hero here but the specials are always sublime. Grab some beer at the bar to drink while in line.

The brisket is amazing. Ribs are great. Pork shoulder is good but really fatty. One person can eat about 3/4 lbs of meat.

Spread your group out wisely. One person waits in line for the meat and orders for the table (sharing is caring), one person to the bar for liters of beer. And 1 brave soul looks for a table.

The smell alone is intoxicating, but the meat is divine. Pulled pork, sausage, and brisket are my favorites. Until Fette Sau, I never knew that I could crave and lust over baked beans.

if you are lucky enough to visit while they have beef cheeks on the menu, do not hold back. they are perhaps the best meat they have: crunchy chewy on the outside, tender on the inside, super flavor!

Ace BBQ, brilliant sides, huge wooden tables for cozy communal seating, magical flatscreen "fireplace," and, last we checked, 30 kinds of bourbon. Don't go there looking for a salad.
