The airport feels small for the size of the city it serves and the number of tourists it hosts. The best part of the airport is the free WiFi. Also, it's not far from downtown.
Lobby of C and D terminal has waiting spaces that have USB and regular outlets if you want to charge up. From what I can see the chairs at the gate in terminal d have outlets as well.
The new airport is incredible. Checkin is on 3rd floor, security on 2nd, and baggage claim on 1st. Download the myTSA app to check security wait times.
New airport doesn’t have any restaurants prior to entering the gate. If you planned on arriving early and sitting down bring a snack. The gate area doesn’t have much seating, or charge stations.
If you need to ship something home, go to "Rush It" on the baggage concourse. They'll ship whatever you need, including a pocket knife I forgot to put in my checked bag.
Please don't use those bathrooms. It doesn't seem to be cleaned very often. And there are only about 3 stalls(maybe 4 stalls) In the women's bathroom. The sink is opposite side of the towel paper!
The Airport Shuttle is totally the way to get to your hotel from the airport. One way ticket is $20, RT $30. Cabs are approx $34 o/w. Buy ticket online or at kiosk by baggage claim
Gettin out of the heat to San Diego?? Stop by Ruth's Chris Steak House on Harbor Dr. Serving sizzling USDA Prime Steaks every night right across from the Bay!! Let the Good Times Roll!!
Plan to wait about 30 minutes at security if you have a morning flight, unless you are fortunate to have a priority or tsa pre-check. Add 10-15 for printing boarding passes and dropping off luggage.
Terminal D has plenty of food and drink now!! Come on in and enjoy the new amenities. Could use a few clocks scattered around so I know what time it is!!
Beware if you are renting a car. Rental area is 30 min away! The busses travel on public roads and are very far away from the main terminal. You get dropped off at arrivals, not departures. 🤬
wow, the people here must hate their jobs because they are absolutely miserable, esp at ticketing and security. if you don't want to deal with a lot of people, prob shouldn't work at a busy airport.
Make sure you check the departure screen right after security otherwise you're walking all the way to the end of the terminal to find out what gate you need.
A small airport with improvements on the way... but at the current time there are underwhelming eateries and shops, and the inside is pretty bland and borderline ugly. Needs modernization ASAP!!
Men: If you need to use a shitter, go all the way down to the 3rd men's bathroom. It has a wheelchair access sign. The first two bathrooms only have 2 stalls & guys are reading Star magazine. WTF!
Good airport... Small, very few long lines (compared to the big hubs). Every flight I've flown coming back in arrives early. Almost no New Orleans delays here! :)
The bathrooms by the Lost & Found in Concourse C are a relic of the pre-9/11 security setup, get no foot traffic, and are much cleaner than typical airportbathrooms.
Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) is the gateway to one of the most exciting cities in the world – New Orleans, legendary for its history, food and good times.
