Very cool vibe. Awesome taxidermy on the walls. The decor feels like you're in a barn hidden from the city. The maple candy walnut fruit Sunday will blow your mind. Try it.

Gorgeous restaurant tucked away in Nolita. It may appear small but there's plenty of space in the back with extra seating.

this is where i am CONVINCED i spotted Rooney Mara. i enjoyed the pork schnitzel and spaetzle, and though i'm not an artichoke dip fan, it's apparently a must and didn't disappoint.

Cozy little spot tucked away in the alley, food was great, the trout was perfect but at 22$ you would think there would be a side dish... No just a fish and plate. Still I'd go back.

It might be a little tricky to find Freemans—there’s no street address; it’s simply located at the end of a little alley. Hunting lodge–inspired decor, its a hip scene and the most comforting meals.

Great space, hard to find but worth it for the Instagram shot alone. Go all in on that Artichoke dip you won't regret it.

The lentil salad was surprisingly mind blowing. I'd order again in a heartbeat. The chicken with roasted sprouts was another winner and be sure to order a Freemans Cocktail before you go.

Head down a dark alley for a dimly-lit scene with creative and consistently clever food. The tartare with potato chips and the Bananas Foster are must-dos.

It’s as close as you can get to nature in New York City—dead forest creatures around the walls at Freeman’s. If you can find the hidden door, try a few drinks—they’re fantastic—and so is the meat.

Strawberry rhubarb parfait is the perfect dessert: sweet, indulgent, fruity, nutty and a not-at-all-stodgy, fairytale finale to dinner. Service is weird but what did you expect from a hipster hangout?
