The best dishes come in sandwich form; the $16 signature burger is stocked with french onion soup, gruyere and an egg on top of the brioche bun, and classics like Croque Monsieurs and Croque Madames. Read more

Go for brunch and get the Shakshuka. Not mind-blowing, but solid with a dash of salt. Half way through, order a side of fries... and dump them in your leftover harissa red sauce at the end. Delicious.

I had the Croque Monsieur here and devoured it in minutes! The food was incredible, and the service was lovely as well! I will be back to this little gem again, and again...... :)

The food here is great and it's a better French café than most of the cafés I've been to in all my travels to Paris.

Mussels are great - with ommegang beer. The steak and fries with bearnaise sauce is unbeatable. Try the lamb burger as well. My favorite neighborhood place!

Open 24hrs. Great place to get post drinks dinner. The Mediterranean platter is great. Carrots to die for. Chicken paillard ($6) w spinach ($6) make great sides. Crowd can be "eclectic" post 3am

Good spot to get some work done. In the back room, the back-right seat has a plug. I'm told there's another seat at the bar with power. Free WiFi.

Affordable, French food that doesn't skip on quality for the sake of price. Go for the crispy duck confit with the fig compote and balsamic reduction; it is delicious!

If French Roast starts to feel like a cutesy French-themed cafe, recall it as Jack Nicholson's hangout in "As Good As It Gets." Or rent the DVD.
