Pie portions large and tasty. Nothing fancy, just good beer and friendly atmosphere.
Great views over Derwent Water. A harder climb than is often claimed, but good going even in February!
Excellent fish and chips restaurant upstairs, with some decent bottled beers. Cumberland sausage nicely coarse and peppery. Pricey, but reasonable value.
Really wonderful food. Set menu at lunch time is great value, includes half a bottle of wine each. Perfect service. And try the cheese!
Pale ales are all very well, but Barnstormer and Dark Side are the way to go for true believers.
Wonderful! Convivial atmosphere, friendly service, very tasty food, big portions, great ravioli, complimentary amaretto! Worth visiting twice… ;)
