When walking across the bridge be sure to look up and explore different angles of the towers and cables. You'll find lots of intriguing compositions and abstracts. Early evening the light is best.

Wait for the morning fog to lift, take a taxi to the Southeast Visitor Area, and find the pedestrian walkway—if you can handle a run of 77 or 8 miles, continue through Crissy Field on the way back.

In early 2015, a movable concrete barrier was added to the bridge. This barrier separates the six lanes of traffic. The Golden Gate Zipper can move the concrete barrier depending upon traffic flow.

The full bridge walk is slightly difficult if windy. Layer your clothes, take raincoat as umbrella doesn't help in the wind. There is a shelter at the end Also toilets.Bus from there to SF costs$5.50

For the best view / picture opportunity of the bridge, go to baker beach. Much better views there than at the touristy gift shop area. Or go across the bridge to hawk hill, beautiful view there too

Park and start from Mill Valley, and through Sausalito climbing up to the Golden Gate and across. That is a smoking ride. Of course you must u-turn at end of Bridge and return to Milly Valley. :)
