- Adrian PhillipsSeptember 22, 2016The green beans with bacon are a must have. As is the BBQ chicken. Skip the cocktails if you're not into sweeter drinks. Be sure to try the crunchy rice salad, it really is a tasty dish.
- Shawn ByronFebruary 11, 2015...sweet and savory broth tremendously! And as with any trendy dish it's delish with a fried egg on top! Show up closer to 1 for a quieter experience. And kudos to the DJ I was dancin the whole...
- Kait GaissMay 13, 2016For some reason the Valencia-outpost has a super low Yelp score compared to how much hype this place gets in Oakland. It's pan-Asian party food and the restaurant has the vibe to match.
- Kris Vera-PhillipsAugust 10, 2013Try the Duck Rice Bowl - #kvpinmybelly: Succulent #duck meat over rice in #Oakland. Fried egg added a silky finish. Pickled vegetables gave it a nice hit of tang. LOVE!
- Kristen LumApril 20, 2014Revised menu is a tasty improvement! Definitely get the pork belly and the pancake with scallops. Always end your meal with a cone...
- Ask for the chef's choice. It's a secret dish off the menu that is a tweak of their dishes that Justin is eating himself at the moment.
- David ValentinOctober 28, 2011Get the Pork belly. I keep meaning to try something else. Everytime I think I'll try something different the waitress comes by asks what I want and I say "I'll have the pork belly."
- KysonNovember 22, 2015They have sticky rice. Get it. A lot of Thai restaurants don't cook it because it takes a long time to soak the rice and steam it fresh.
- Hana NaSeptember 18, 2011Serious nom. Don't tell anyone. Their Kao Mun is their rice made with chicken fat and broth! Dessert: order the condensed milk ice cream cone :)
- Brian StraussOctober 23, 2014Excellent pork belly and patched chicken lunches. Loved the peanut appetizer. Perfect beer pal.
- Omg I could drink the hot sauce. And get the peanuts they're good on every damn thing. The chicken rice is only ok, but everything else is consistently outstanding.
- Fantastic rice bowls! Can't go wrong with any of them, but I particularly love the poached chicken, pork belly and veggie curry.
- Jason MathisFebruary 22, 2015The best fried chicken. Add a fried egg and you'll be eating like royalty! 😋
- Doug KeenDecember 22, 2016Blistered green beans are crazy good. Also worth saving room for a Hawker sundae.
- Jason JamesJuly 30, 2014Thai street food from Momofuku and Manresa chefs against an old school hip hop backdrop.
- Shawn ByronFebruary 11, 2015It's hard to disappoint with this dish anywhere, but the crew at Hawker Fare really deliver! A generous helping of pork belly leaves nothing to be desired and the fermented mustard greens offset ...
- Jennifer PantagesSeptember 2, 2013Loved the tamarind and honey rum drink. Delicious! And great service.
- Khanh-Dan Tran-kiemMarch 30, 2015You have to get the fried chicken with the spicy sauce, it's the bomb.
- David ValentinNovember 8, 2011Michelin Star cuisine on a burger budget. Get the pork belly with the egg. Get everything with the egg.
- Cristina S.August 26, 2014EVERYTHING. Beginners should start with the Kao Mun Gai. Or Gai Thot...get an egg on it.
- Brian WrightsonDecember 30, 2012Lots of people talking about the pork belly, but the Gai Yang is better. Perfect chicken.
- Lynn HuSeptember 12, 2013Rice bowls are delicious but the portion might not be big enough for some, so get it with some to-shares. Service is just ok tho.
- Shawn ByronFebruary 11, 2015Way through my lunch. From Living Legends to Edward Sharp this place is the jam!
- Talk about falling off... This place WAS good. Then they went and messed with the menu.
- This eclectic rice bowl restaurant was unexpectedly and totally brilliant
- Pro-tip: Spoon on your right hand, fork on the left. Eat with spoon.
- Jane WrightsonDecember 30, 2012Skip the congee unless you love bland porridge, but save room for the Hawker Sundae forreaaaaal.
- Arthur ChangJanuary 6, 2012This place is always closed! Third time trying and it's randomly closed this week. Make sure to call before driving out here. Lame.
- jiNovember 12, 2011Save your $: pork belly and short ribs were both tough and overpriced. Go to chinatown.
