- Norman EllisOctober 16, 2016One of the rare NYC eateries where the tables are spaced so the only conversation you hear is your own. And even tho the room is packed you can speak and hear your companions. AND the food is great!
- MikeyMarch 4, 2014The place lives up to the reputation. Best vegetarian hamburger I've ever had and the spinach dip shouldn't be missed either. Good atmosphere too. Beware, they supposed to have a dress code.
- The Corcoran GroupNovember 4, 2013It's basically impossible to come here and have a bad meal. We love the Spinach Dip, and usually order the Dutch Country Chicken or the French Dip to follow it. Can get busy so make a reservation.
- What's not to love about this place always consistent, great service and one of the best veggie burgers around!!! Artichoke dip, sushi and ribs not forget about either...
- SusanaSeptember 3, 2018I realize this is a steakhouse franchise, so I can’t believe I’m writing this, but I love the sushi here. The osaka (I think) is a must. Like a little sushi sandwich. Veggie burger is really good too!
- Marc CohenDecember 18, 2016Favorite restaurant for a solid meal. All items are great, service is always great and consistent. Blue-cheese stiffed olive dirty martinis, negronis, grilled artichokes, spinach dip, prime rib dip 💯
- Serra CDecember 7, 2019Really really good restaurant. We tried spinach and artichoke, French deep sandwich, burger and brownie. All of them was perfect. Highly recommend
- I am obsessed with their spinach dip for an appetizer and their French dip sandwich is the best one I have ever had. Their ribs are fantastic too, so is their roasted chicken.
- Angie JenieMay 20, 2017Food here is so good. Had the french dip, hawaiian rib eye, sirloin, and cheeseburger. Also had the artichoke. All very good.
- Greg SchaentzlerFebruary 10, 2017What isn't good here is more the question. Almost eerie consistency, with the nicest staff this side of Chick-fil-a. Food is amazing, $$$, solid parent dinner place. Your dad will love it.
- Nicole ReganFebruary 7, 2016Ask for the chicken fingers (the small portion is huge and half the price). Not on the menu, but best chicken fingers I've ever had. The Park Ave location doesn't offer them.
- SolJanuary 15, 2019Old reliable, this place is a crowd pleaser. One of the best veggie burgers you can find. I wish the sushi rolls were easier to eat.
- ZenFoodsterJanuary 10, 2014My fave here: BBQ baby back ribs- meat so tender, juicy & flavorful they fall off the bone! Also, love that it comes w/ finely chopped & not-too-mayoey coleslaw & thin, straw fries. ;9
- Ralph MeyerJune 24, 2021Great location in NYC. They added sushi to their menu. We had a roll for an appetizer. Both our dishes were delicious. Attentive service, busy location.
- Christina ♏️November 9, 2014I always order either the Hawaiian rib-eye or the Thai Steak and Noodle salad (with dressing on the side)
- Julie SonJuly 26, 2012A pricey menu but the food was definitely good. Spinach dip good. Wine good. French dip medium rare very good!!! very big space. Bar area big. Live music. great place to bring ppl to.
- Manuel MaccouAugust 18, 2013Get the French Dip! So simple yet so good. Also the Osaka Pressed Tuna sushi is amazing. And say hi to the Manager/my friend Sara, she's great.
- They will generously allow you to substitute any of their sides for the shoestring fries with your meal, not that you necessarily want to, but the kale salad and caesar salad are delicious.
- Maria OrsiniAugust 9, 2013Great atmosphere. One of the best handmade burgers I have ever had!! Everything on the menu looks amazing. Nice selections of wine by the glass as well.
- Mark CohenOctober 14, 2014After so many years the former "houston's" still wows with awesome BBQ ribs and the classic spinach dip. Portions seem a bit smaller than they used to be. Satisfying nonetheless.
- Derek EidSeptember 20, 2015The baby back ribs was the best I ever had , wasn't expecting to be impressed coming from North Carolina the land of BBQ but hillstone didn't fail to impress !
- Hunter MandelFebruary 17, 2016Fantastic spinach and artichoke dip, the ribs are some of the best in NYC (fall off the bone). Nice wine selection and great burgers
- A bit pricy but best place to have client meetings or lunch with your peers if you're looking to talk some biz as well. i've tried all their salads to date and love them all especially the tuna, check Read more
- Catarina SchallenbachJuly 8, 2017Spinash and Artichoke dip has cheese in it 🤢 they could have specified it in the menu. Ate a veggie burger there during lunch and now in the evening my stomach is still burning. 🤢
- Make sure you sit at the bar to get the full menu. Order the yellow tail jalapeño kale coconut and cashew salad. You won't be disappointed!
- Harry Earle-MundilMay 22, 2017Excellent food and service. We especially liked the Pressed Tuna Osaka Style :)
- Amazing food and very nice atmosphere. Everyone is dressed in smart business attire due to the location. Lots of eye candy 😉
- Chris ChenMarch 26, 2015Went to lunch expecting the prime rib but it seems to have disappeared off the menu?? The crispy chicken sandwich was delicious.
- Tish NobleApril 22, 2016Party of 6 and everyone raved! Grilled chicken salad was delicious as was the special grilled artichoke appetizer!
- Best veggie burger in the city. Ahi Tuna burger at lunch is amazing. Artichokes, when in season, are a MUST order. Love the unlimited iced teas:)
- Try the off-the-menu chicken fingers. If wait too long for a table, sidle up to the bar where they have a nice wine list and friendly, efficient bartenders that pour generous wines by the glass.
- Tai ShawOctober 26, 2012Used to be Houston's, but the surrounds are still the same. A good thing. I recommend the Prime Rib...I was in sheer heaven!!!
- Sam LevineSeptember 29, 2014Beyond helpful staff (I have a bunch of allergies) and amazing brussel sprouts & loaded potato... 10 out of 10!
- Matt KeoMay 3, 2013The wait was forever! but get a seat at the bar and enjoy the jazz music while you wait for your table. The ribs are to die for.
- I recommend the veggie burger, French dip or Thai steak noodle salad. But everything else is just as good. Serving size is more than enough. Come hungry.
- Suzannah SimmonsFebruary 18, 2013Awesome tuna burger! Great coleslaw and fresh tomatoes! Don't recommend the fries. Sit at the bar for lunch and ask for great service via April.
- Nicole AltieriOctober 3, 2013Great decor, live jazz band, top it off with the Thai steak noodle salad and a bottle of wine (you can bring your own).
- Akrati AgarwalJanuary 24, 2013The veggie burger is the best you'll ever have...even rated in nytimes! The French fries are also super skinny n amazing!
- Julia LuJuly 31, 2018Artichoke dip and fries are overhyped. But the butter salmon and fish salads were great.
- Andrea RudaFebruary 27, 2013Best veggie burger ever- I couldn't believe it wasn't meat. The kale salad is also a must-order. Hillstone is surprisingly very vegan-friendly!
- Michael TenggalaSeptember 3, 2011Ribs are great . The service are 5 stars, top notch. The place is comfy. The chicken is good. Everything is top of the line while the price is reasonable.
- Meg FarmerMay 8, 2016Great for a work dinner, or meeting up with friends. Veggie Burger is on point.
- Marinna DudasFebruary 26, 2017I respect a steakhouse that doesn't skimp on their veggie burger! Very tasty and satisfying 🍔
- Bryan ViperSeptember 3, 2013I do not like any restaurant that insists I remove my hat upon arrival. I'm light sensitive. However, their food is good with great portions and the wait staff is always "on point."
- Jeff St. ClairJune 14, 2012Changed their name from Houston's to skirt NYC's calorie posting law but still love the place.....ask for the flying chicken - not on menu but all the servers know it and will still serve - 2die4
