Such a gorgeous space, especially in the “garden.” Loved every dish: deviled eggs, uni biscuit, black cod, lobster roll, butternutravioli, and the miso donuts. Super unique dishes with robust flavors
Share dishes (eg., kale w/almonds & pecorino; pumpkin toast; Hinoki black cod) & try their specialty drinks, too (eg, "son of a bee sting" - gin, ginger, lemon, rose water). Very unique place indeed!
Incredible menu, spectacular drinks, extremely friendly & knowledgeable staff. Outdoor seating has a beautiful relaxing feel and very zen. I will continue to recommend this place for years to come.

Hinoki & the Bird is serving up a ICHIBA tasting menu every Wednesday evening, with only the best ingredients that chef Brandon Kida finds at the Santa Monica Farmers’ Market that morning.
Great location for groups, good music, food, drinks, outdoor dining, and fun. It's starting to become one of my faves to visit when friends come in town.
The attention to the sense of touch is clear in the melting softness of that black cod, in the silken beef tartare, in the wetness of the chili crab toast matched with the cucumber underneath. Read more
The drinks are by a mixologist from Milk & Honey and the Asian-inspired menu still incorporates the fresh, healthy fare Myers is known for, including a raved about lobster roll and kale salad. Read more
Nothing in the area but this it seems... but awesome Asian/Californian tapas. Fishchurros to start followed by boarribs, chickendumps and the bass, all 👌🏻 and we saw Cuba Gooding Jr. 🤗
The lobster roll at this Japanese-American eatery is far from traditional: The meat gets a twist with a hint of citrus, green curry and basil, and it’s served on a black, charcoal bun. Read more
Always a sweet ending at Hinoki & the Bird. Kalamansi-shiso sorbet, black sesame ice cream with lemon and hibiscus, misoice cream with butterscotch and togarashi, and matcha zephyr.
I love how negronis are the new trendycocktail. Four delicious takes on the classic here. Highly recommend the Kingston negroni if you want a tropical twist.
My new fave place in LA. There is (amazing) food for everyone. Beef tartare is amongst the best I ve had, and black cod is - wait for it - better than nobu. So tender. Great vibe
one of my favorite places. the roasted yam is ridiculous. a must. and the beef tartare is silky, fresh and perfectly seasoned. can't wait to go back and have more.
Housed in an upscale 42-storey tower. The menu is inspired by the SilkRoad, try the grilled drunken duck breast and hinoki-scented black cod served with a piece of the namesake hinoki cypress wood. Read more
Aside from the ridiculous $28 parking, this hotel lounge/bar is well worth the experience. Every item we tried was a MOFOing delicacy. The miso mochi is seriously out of this world.
Fantastic food & great space! Highlights include crab toast, pumpkin toast, beef tartare & black cod. Kale salad was bland, lobster roll was nothing special & didn't love desserts. Great meal overall!
Really amazing food. Everything tasted delicious! Patio is cute. My favs on the menu were the mussels, salmon and pumpkin toast. And for dessert the miso mochi is a MUST!
Loved the crab toast, lobster roll, pork bellycalamari, the miso donuts, cottage cheese cake. Beautiful restaurant and good service. Great plates of food to share.
Tasty spicylobster roll on a black bun. The miso cod was delish as were the yellowtail and hamachicrudo. The short ribs were good, but the pork belly was amazing!

You may look like an idiot trying to open the door, so let someone do it for you. Even if you do end up looking like an idiot, the meal will be worth it.
