- TomOctober 3, 2014Hidden gem in SoHo. Both omasakes are great. The 9 course includes 2 more appetizers and higher grade dishes. Homemade soba is offered if you're not full.
- ZenFoodsterNovember 6, 2016Refined, creative Japanese in a zen setting. 1 of my top NYC picks: homemade shiso plum sake+ amazing combo of fresh crustaceans: Uni, lobster, abalone, scallop! Divine esp for uni & raw fish lovers!
- Vic ZaudDecember 24, 2014Definitely do the chefs tasting menu here (Omakase) - I did 10 dishes. Just amazing and so worth the experience. Final rice dish here had two kinds of uni from both coasts!
- Erica ChoiDecember 28, 2013Possibly my most favorite omakase restaurant in the city - an excellent mix of sashimi, tempura and rice dishes. The interior is simple and beautiful. Sit at the bar if possible to watch Chef Hiro!
- Andrew CabangonApril 20, 2019Really refreshing and tasty seafood! The uni was especially good! The beef requires an acquired taste as it is flavoured like Japanese beef however its texture and consistency is like American beef.
- naveenAugust 22, 2014i love the calm and beautiful design of this space - a small part of japan in soho. i will eat anything they serve.
- Marc CenedellaAugust 14, 2014The fish is outstanding and really the specialty of the place, but the chicken shoji is so far better than any other chicken you've had in your life that it is worth a try.
- Chris C.August 4, 2013Omakase is the way to go here, Chef Hiro will definitely provide an assortment of flavorful meat and fresh fish dishes. The week-long miso marinated pork was the favorite!
- Shirley LauMay 8, 2017Loved the goma tofu and chef's homemade soba! The unagi was way over-grilled unfortunately.
- Mabel SoJune 12, 2019Tried the lunch omakase and was an excellent experience. Highly recommend this place
- Lee WestJune 20, 2022Went on a great date with a Japanese lady here a few years back. Relationship didn’t last but would go back for the food. Quite pricey
- Rafi RomeroNovember 14, 2015Good Japanese but the omakase tasting menu had no nigiri =\ . The first two dishes were superb though!
- ginnnnnnny 🦀July 11, 2019Everything else is just okay, but the dessert tea rules... never had tea like that
- CJNJanuary 25, 2015Absolutely wonderful meal. Opt for either omakase meal. Highlight of my meal was Maine and Santa Barbara uni atop a sesame tofu cube. Also, the space is minimal and calming, with great service.
- Tayson HoangAugust 31, 2013Excellent little Japanese restaurant in a nondescript soho building. Get the 9 course omakase for $159. Worth it! Sit at the sushi bar and chat with Chef Hiro Hiyashi
- Ekaterina ObukhovaSeptember 25, 2015Amazing stylish Japanese place, like in Tokyo! Small menu and only fresh fish!
