- Travel + LeisureSeptember 27, 2013The Viceroy Hotel Group property attracts a high-tech crowd thanks to its sleek interiors, a game room off the lobby, and a floor-to-ceiling Plinko installation that you can actually play.
- Miles BranmanJune 30, 2015Excellent hotel. Prime location, small, but modern and cozy room, great fitness room, and friendly staff. New favorite SF hotel.
- Wilson Favre-DelerueNovember 20, 2017Decent hotel and the closest SF gets to a "boutique hotel", though a long way from such hotels in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. Beware the super dodgy and somewhat dangerous surrounding area.
- Clean, cozy and super friendly staff, room size is specious (considering that located in the heart of SF downtown), location is superb, try to take higher floors (market st is a noisy busy street).
- Tim PursellJuly 16, 2015It used to be a good deal. Showers have a glory home. Very stylish and a killer lobby lounge. It's a Viceroy hotel.
- Jenny KJuly 25, 2015If you're looking for an easy dinner in your room, considering grabbing a pizza from Cupola in the mall. Surprisingly tasty considering its location.
- Don't miss the giant pachinko game by the bar. Definitely fun! Pro tip: think about how it relates to the central limit theorem.
- Jason StillwellSeptember 13, 2013You can send soccer balls down the giant pachinko from the second floor.
- Avoid the networking receptions in the lobby by hiding out in the egg-shaped chair tucked away - left of the reception when facing it.
- Stef SpitalnickNovember 2, 2013kinda hip (trying a bit hard) and green hotel conveniently located in civic center complete with comfy beds and a clean gym.
- Josh FajardoJanuary 29, 2015Go to the playroom and make some friends with other tourists (hopefully they're Australian), then proceed to go see Waka Flocka Flame, but not get in, so go to a dive bar in a random alleyway
- StevenMay 28, 2017Bar inside a hotel. Two pool tables and tons of games on the 2nd floor. Appetizers are good
- MatthewOctober 10, 2015Pretty solid mid market hotel tucked in between crappy pickwick and Westfield mall. Blue Bottle and M'oz are steps away.
- Brendan LewisMay 17, 2013You don't use a fresh towel at home everyday, so why do it here? Skip the daily housekeeping and get $10 minibar credit or comped mega WiFi instead.
- Good price for the location and friendly staff though rooms are dark and no plugs near the bed
- Stephen BarnecutOctober 17, 2023Well located hotel with clean, well-equipped rooms, and valet parking.
- Matt DewaltJuly 8, 2019Free pool table and shuffle board in the "playroom" upstairs. And, a photo booth. photomatica.com
- Be sure to insist on a good room, not one that faces the brick wall interior. Styling lobby with hip vibe
- Dameon PopeApril 18, 2013Great looking hotel. Will be amazing soon. But not ready for prime time just yet. No restaurant or bar.
- Troy PadeJune 9, 2012Its cheap, cheerful and convenient. Staff is terribly friendly. Hotel has good bones. Heard Viceroy is gonna do a huge revamp in November. Best thing is it isn't in Union Square!!
- debzMay 1, 2013Be environmentally friendly and skip housekeeping. You'll get 24 hour access to upgraded internet speed or a $10 minibar credit.
- Heather TerrellNovember 18, 2013The front desk has a bag that you can use to bring all the Plinko balls upstairs at once!
- Victor PerlingeiroAugust 8, 2012Fair enough considering the location and the room with a great bed and shower. I'd stay here again for a short period of time.
- Wilson Favre-DelerueDecember 12, 2017Decent “boutique” hotel by SF standards. Beware the many homeless in the immediate vicinity.
- Rikin DiwanMarch 27, 2015Do not stay in rooms 307-310 cause you can hear everyone having fun while you sleep all alone at night.
- The bar is awesome - especially the "Commodore64" cocktail... Amazing!!!
- I have always heard great things about the hotel but my room left a lot to be desired.
- Erin H.May 30, 2015Expensive! But has lots of fun games, soccer ball plinko, board games, shuttle board...
- Joe DNovember 12, 2016Not sure why a hotel put rooms above a music-banging clubish lobby, but avoid sleeping on the 3,4th floor if you wish to sleep.
- Melon LMarch 14, 2016I probably would need to start turning tricks to be able to afford drinks here.
- KellyAugust 28, 2016Had brand new shoes stolen out of my suitcase, apparently by housekeeping. Nothing on security footage. Had the receipt, so management reimbursed, but still... 😐
- David SmithFebruary 11, 2015Wifi is very slow to connect the first time, but after that it's fast and reliable.
- the mini bar is empty and i can't connect to the wifi. good bye world.
- Michael BayerJuly 22, 2011Eeeeew. Says it all. Cheesy, karaoke bar, loud, not exactly the best area. But it is close to market st, so it's not all bad.
- Marianne NJune 15, 2018The aircon is noisy, the room is pretty basic, the wifi doesn’t work, and area is so dodgy. Feels more like somewhere you’d stay for work.
- Gotta agree on the WiFi - best to use an air card. No in room coffee, tiny TV and no notification of packages being delivered. Laundry was quick to be returned so there is that. Won't be back.
