Everything is delicious. Best Ramen noodles in NYC by far. Try the Akamaru Modern with Nitamago (soft boiled egg) and a side of Bakudan (spicy paste.) You'll be glad you did.

Make sure to try Maguro Tuna and pork buns for appetizer. Classic ramen has thick, rich soup; Modern is more fragrant and oily; Spicy one is wonderful is you could stand the heat!

After a lively and surprising welcome from staff upon being seated, service is on point and ambiance energetic. Shishito peppers are a must with a sake cocktail to start. Veggie Ramen is outstanding!

Get the akamaru modern if it's your first time -- by far the most popular. Otherwise, the spicy miso ramen at the bottom of the menu. And obviously, you need to the pork buns. Better than momofuku.

Ippudo was brought to NYC by Shigemi Kawahara, who is known as "the Ramen King" in Japan; his rich, cloudy tonkotsu broths draw the longest lines the city's ramen-ya, and they're well worth the wait. Read more

My favorite ramen place in the east village! Eating here once will change your perception of ramen noodles from an essential part of every poor college student's diet to a fantastic, delicious meal!

The kitchen is visible, it’s noisy, & the staff speaks a Japanese welcome while seating you. The food is out of this world good (w/excellent vegetarian & vegan options). Expect to pay $20-30 pp.

Great scene, great vibe. The Akamaru Modern Ramen was off the charts, as were the pork and shrimp buns. Don't take res but they have a cool bar up front for while you wait (and it's worth the wait)

Vegetarians- get the Wasabi Ramen (with a spiced egg and their homemade spicy paste if you like some heat). The mascarpone dessert is good, but I liked the macha creme brûlée much better

Great atmosphere, great service, and amazing food. Start with the pork belly buns or chicken wings. For ramen, I’d suggest Akamaru Modern with a soft boiled egg for your first time.

i always order pork buns and the vegetarian (vegan?) wasabi shoyu ramen, the noodles are much thicker than the ones in the tonkutsu, and bamboo is included!

This is the best ramen place in NYC. If you get there before noon, you can avoid the longer waits. For appetizers, go for the pork buns and the wings. The wings are finger licking good.

I always forget how great the ramen is. And how full you are after since the broth is so rich. Love the Akamaru Modern with a poached egg. Most importantly, don't skimp out on the pork belly buns

Always add the ajitsuke tamago (season boiled egg aka ramen egg) to your ramen order! It elevates your dish & adds extra creaminess, depth & flavor to your ramen. In short, the egg completes the dish!

My first time having ramen, and I'm happy it was in here! Already the fried chicken buns would be worth the normal two-hour wait (arrived 5pm and were seated in 10mins). Ramen was fresh and tasty too!

The pork bun is a must have. The tonkotsu broth is sensational. The essence of pork is more present at Daikokuya in LA but the broth here is more nuanced. Hard to pick between them for best tonkotsu.

The Akamaru Modern is the most popular. Silky broth and aromatic garlic oil coats the super-thin, elastic noodles. Tender pork chasu, cabbage, sesame kikurage mushrooms, & scallions are placed atop.
