Jenn Y: WILLIAMS AVE: Yep, spotted on the show Portlandia. This is your neighborhood coffeeshop. Grab a cup and people watch at this uber-stylish coffeeshop. Free wifi too.

Jenn Y:  WILLIAMS AVE: They serve artisan cocktails and delightful nibbles in an intimate and candle-lit atmosphere. Try the tequila-based El Guapo. We love the late-night happy hour (after 11pm Sun-Thu).

Jenn Y: WILLIAMS AVE: Neighborhood grocery store, four blocks away. Portland's Whole Foods. Great local produce and hot prepared food section. Also lots of locally-made gift items perfect for souvenirs.

Jenn Y: The NE hipster brunch spot. To avoid the frustratingly long waits, go on a weekday or Sa/Su before 10am. We love the breakfast plate, corncakes and egg sandwich. Counter order then wait for a table.

Jenn Y: Just around the corner. Counter-order restaurant. It's a small menu, but we never tire of it. One of our favorites!

Jenn Y: One of our favorite under-the-radar dinner spots. Chef-driven menu that is always a joy to partake in.

Jenn Y: Low key bar on Mississippi, great for a casual drink. We go for the burgers. Stellar outdoor patio hang.

Jenn Y: A foodie favorite, menu changes daily based on what's in the markets. This is the can't miss restaurant for a foodie tour of Portland.

Jenn Y: Stylish spot for tapas, by the same owners of Tasty N' Sons.

Jenn Y: Right next to Toro Bravo, Secret Society is a great local music venue with well-curated list of shows. Check out the calendar to see what strikes your fancy. A very Portland experience.

Jenn Y: Vibrant and hip atmosphere. But more importantly, food that is OUT OF THIS WORLD. Focusing on Indian street food, if you like Indian food and spices, this is a can't miss.

Jenn Y: This ice cream shop has quite the cult-following for inventive flavors like Honey Balsamic Strawberry with Cracked Pepper. It's every bit as good as the hype - go.

Jenn Y: Awesome restored school converted into a hotel/restaurant/bar/soaking pool/movie theatre. It's a trippy experience. We go for the $5 movies in the auditorium - plush vintage couches instead of seats.

Jenn Y: Runs March-Christmas and actually open both Saturday and Sunday, this is the craft market to beat all craft markets. Wonderful treasure to be found. Come support Portland's DIY/artisan culture.

Jenn Y: The largest independent in the US. Like the Strand, but 10x more friendly.

Jenn Y: Across the street from Powell's. Kenny & Zukes serves a mean pastrami sandwich.

Eater: Of course, Nong's addictive signature dish, a Thai take on Hainan chicken, takes center stage, here and at Nong's two food cart locations, at SW Alder and at the PSU cart pod. [Eater 38 Member]

Jenn Y: Hiking! Volcanoes! Trees! Reservoirs! Awesome place to hike and explore without leaving the city!

Eater: It's a splurge, but each prix-fixe seating is like a dinner party gone carnivorously crazy. Get the charcuterie plates, and braised duck or beef cheeks if they're available. [Eater 38 Member] Read more.

Eater: Though meat hitting the grill is the main focus, both veggies and seafood represent well in homey dishes like hominy stew and braised octopus. [Eater Member 38]

Eater: You’ll find pickled onions on your burger and foie gras in your profiterole, but also some killer fried green tomatoes on your pork belly and a really good chicken-under-a-brick. [Eater 38 Member] Read more.

Thrillist: A place promoting a pig out, Lardo plates meaty desires like their signature Porchetta w/ caper aioli & gremolata. Read more.

Eater: Bartender Evan Zimmerman is behind the menu. The eight-item cocktail list features unexpected flavors like black truffle (in the "Lights Out") and campari seeped with cedar (in the "Pan-Am").

Serious Eats: The spherical Danish pancakes, Swedish hashes, and Aquavit cocktails are just a few of the authentic mainstays on Broder’s Scandinavian-inspired menu.
