This is a parking lot rest area at the apex of the Palms to Pines Highway leading into-out of the Coachella Valley. It's likely pretty windy, so leave your hat in the car or lose it.
One of the most scenic roads I've ever driven. Desert, forest, mountains, and all in the span of a couple hours. The mountain drive can get scary in high winds, however.

Too Vegas-y a hotel for my taste, but the pool and fire pits are lovely. Watch out for amorous couples humping each other in the pool.

This one time, I saw a guest sleeping on a chaise lounge on the lawn next to the pool. He fell asleep at dusk and stayed there all night. That's the kind of chill scene you'll find there.
Classic piano bar with real hostesses and real cocktails and not trying to cater to hipsters at all, though they eventually find it and fall in love with it as well.
