- LufthansaOctober 25, 2012Need some rest from New York’s skyscrapers? Go visit “The High Line” in Chelsea! This public park built on a defunct railway that runs 30 feet above Manhattan really is extraordinary and relaxing.Upvoted 1 week ago
- It can be confusing, but it’s well worth figuring out how to get into the city via the AirTrain and subway—costs 10% as much as a taxi, and locals will eagerly help you find your way if you ask.Upvoted 1 day ago
- Terminal 4 pro tip: if your little one soils himself and you run out of backup clothes — deep breaths, remain calm. know both Hudson ($10) and Shake Shack ($18) have onesies.Upvoted 1 week ago

- Yes, there are two Shake shacks in the Delta terminal. Skip the first one you see. The one further in has seating and sometimes a shorter line. Go there.
- Adrian PhillipsJune 16, 2016If you fly in with JetBlue the AirTrain is a pretty long walk away, so factor that into your commute time. Virgin America is much easier when it comes to jumping in the train.
- Hedonist TravellerApril 1, 2018Each terminal is a different world here. 1 is straightforward and tend to be very quick both inbound & outbound. Terminal 4 has tons of shops and restaurants but be prepared to walk a lot to your gate
- If you're in Terminal 1, look out the big windows next to Gate 7. You'll be able to say goodbye to the New York skyline in the distance and if you squint, you'll make out the Freedom Tower and ESB.
- Free Wi-Fi, MUJI to GO, and an outdoor patio/lounge/dog walk are just a few things to love about JetBlue's Terminal 5.
- Turkish AirlinesNovember 28, 2014Welcome to New York! A day during this festive season wouldn’t be complete without a skate around the Rockefeller Center ice rink, so make sure you go for a spin!
- Kushal SanghviFebruary 20, 2019One of the busiest airports in the world and it’s amazing how much you have to walk, pretty much like grid waking in NY city!! Lots of food and drinks to get!!
- A brand new USO just opened at JetBlue's Terminal 5. It's available to all military personal and their families and located in the arrivals hall near baggage carousels 2 and 3.
- Opt for the Even More Space! It includes expedited security! You won't go back once you've experienced the difference!
- JetBlue's T5 Rooftop (across from Gate 28 at Terminal 5) is a post security outdoor space and pet relief area open for all customers.
- Ask someone in front of Lufthansa lounge to take you along and eat and drink for free. Bonus: Only go with Senator status to get extra nice food.
- Athonia CappelliMay 9, 2014Grab a meal from Balducci's market in the food court to bring on board your flight. They have quite a few vegan & vegetarian meals to go. Vegan pad thai, dumplings & bento box are amount the choices
- They just recently introduced Global Entry where you can beat the lines by using these kiosks when you arrive. It's $125 for 5 years. Worth it if you travel a lot and need to save time.
- Arrive early and visit the new TWA Hotel. You can even rent a room for a half day if you have a long layover. Head to the pool deck to see planes arriving and taking off while enjoying a cocktail.
- Jet AirwaysAugust 31, 2015If you need a quick view of New York, visit the Rockerfeller Center and Top of the Rock observation deck. They are less crowded than the Empire State Building yet have great views.
- Go to the airport early so you can enjoy the amazing TWA HOTEL’s futuristic design and have a drink in style inside an airplane.
- James UnderbergMay 16, 2015Like the song "Getting Better All all the Time" Usually fly out of T4 on Delta - love the Sky Club with the open roof deck great when it gets warm ! - recently flew from T1 on AeroMexico - needs work!
- James H.October 18, 2016British Airways has comfortable lounge for Club Class. You can have dinner here before boarding so sleep is easier. Ask for champagne. They have Laurent Perrier but you need to ask for it.
- Really smooth tarmacs. Try tarmac #7! It always goes down smooth!
- Prepare to do a lot of walking, and add time for it. I am pretty sure I walked 3 miles between plane and car. Also, long-term parking costs half as much as terminal parking, but add in shuttle time
- By far my favorites of the NYC airports. Specially Terminal 5 take a stroll around the center. Theres Shopping and live Music!
- Allow plenty of xtra time if you have a flt leaving out of terminal 4, esp delta flts. The new terminal is really nice with great food options (shake shack! blue smoke!) but its a damn long terminal.
- Sprawling, crumbling, and poorly connected, JFK is a disgrace to a great city and makes for a depressing start or end to any journey. Probably the best of the region's major airports.
- Pop in some headphones, put on Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” and take it all in as you majestically glide down an escalator. Welcome to New York City.
- Muriel VegaAugust 28, 2014Need to go to Manhattan for a long layover? Leave your bag downstairs at Terminal 1 at the baggage storage. Quick and easy and only a few bucks. Take Airtrain to the NYC Subway for cheap trip
- I've always had positive experiences at JFK. Always clean and well-organized. Employees are generally friendly and helpful. I highly recommend applying for TSA Precheck to avoid long security lines
- Get there early. TSA Lines can rapidly fluctuate. Be nice to the desk teams and they might make your life easier.
- The only filtered water station in Terminal 5 is between Gates 27 and 28.Upvoted Oct 19
- Terminal B (Delta's Terminal) Gates 20-25 area has great seating, lighting and even personal iPads for each seat's passenger to enjoy. A great place to get work done if you have time.
- The JetBlue terminal is my favorite! Grab a large coffee from Starbucks to make the wait for your flight that much more pleasant.Check out the gift shops & bookstores & do some shopping.
- adriana castroMay 20, 2018For one of the busiest airports in the works it’s pretty easy to commute to any point of NYC also hey have several Shake Shack locations inside for a snack
- Brooklyn Deli by gate 38 is very unassuming from the outside, but pretty damn good. I quietly scoffed at the $12 charge for my Philly Cheesesteak with Avocado and Jalapeños...until my first bite.
- Probably one of the busiest airports in the planet, fear not if you are late for your flight they will make sure you have your own security line, I have been from entrance to gate in 35mins.
- May A.June 22, 2018You have to input your personal passport details & picture taken on a computer kiosk before lining up to immigration. Make sure you scan your passport well by sliding it fully inside the scanner.
- If your gate number is 1-8, your walk is quite quick (5min), but if it’s more, be prepared for 15min walk. Lounge in both areas.
- AmmaroNovember 2, 2013Best way to get to Manhattan is take the air train/subway! Costs you a total of $7.5, and we'll get you there in 50 mins. A cab is about $60 and depending on traffic could take well over an hour
- New carry-on only security check on the lower (arrivals) level of T4 is nice and fast. On the right hand side if you’re facing the arrivals doors (and staff don’t seem to know yet where it is).
- Nice job on the Delta Sky Club outdoor lounge area. Make sure you check it out as it is a bit over to the side. Quite fashionable.
- T4 has new security system at Pre Check: bins slide to the side if they need extra attention so you don't get caught behind Edna & her 13 bottles of liquid. Consider going to T2 & taking shuttle.
- LauraNovember 30, 2015Official New York Taxi rank was clearly marked, easy to get to, fully staffed with helpful people and a fixed rate from JFK into the city. Perfect!
- Aarat SatyavoluJune 29, 2016JFK Pro - Tip - When going through security on Terminal 4 try to go through the security on numbers 12-15 (Scanner Machine numbers) because you don't have to remove your shoes, sweater or laptop
