No pre-check at Terminal 1 so make sure to arrive early!
If you need a place to do salah, try the musalla in Terminal 4.
Currently a nightmare to drive in- take the AirTrain to the LIRR instead

As of February 2013, they have finally ripped out the scatter machines.
Not the friendliest airport, but it does have a more efficient TSA ID check than other airports like New Orleans.

Bella MDecember 31, 2016Delta is not a good airline to fly with. After making me miss my connection they downgraded my flight status when I should be upgraded ! Will never fly with hen again .
Make sure you are the first person to stand up after the plane has landed and stand in the aisle for 25 minutes.

No matter what airline your fly, make sure you're at the gate 45 minutes to an hour prior to departure. Doors close 10 minutes prior to departure. Airplanes don't wait for you, YOU wait for airplanes.
777-7777. Late night arrivals beats the wait for a cab and the ride back to the city.
Terminal 4: get food or drink before going through security. More options and cheaper. Inside, Panda Express sells bottled water for 4 dollars (!)
Waleska SilvaFebruary 17, 2015Today was a totally mass, the terminal 1 was flooding and all the American Airlines arrivals was transferring to terminal 4. It takes to me 2 hours to get into.
