So glad we tried it. Formerly McElwees, new owner very friendly. Fish & chips & hush puppies to share excellent. Many beer choices; sample the drafts. Wife wants to order a T-shirt when restocked.
Nice, clean room, parking deck where you enter directly on your floor & friendly staff. Breakfast was the only weak spot as they seemed unprepared for a big tour group.
So many pancake choices, so get the pancake sampler for 2 each of 3 types. Mine: Buckwheat, coconut & pecan (pic) & were great esp w/ the tropical syrup sauce on coconut. Wife liked her savory crepe.
Stop in for free samples at the cookie bar, but also to learn the fascinating history that brought this one-time cookie shanty to international fame. Scotch Oatmeal still the king, but find your fave.
Colorfully-iced shortbread in various shapes & sizes are thick but baked just right. The big soft ginger cookie, fresh chocolate chip, peanut butter, “everything-cookie” & luscious brownie all great.
Standard Longhorn food & experience - pretty good, though in Acworth, the steak comes with side & salad. Here, only a side.
I enjoyed the slider trio with a side of fries. My slider choices were cheeseburger, pulled pork bbq & a Cuban. All good, but might do 2 burgers if go again.
Standard Zaxby’s fare: I get Big Zax Snack (finger/fry/drink combo). Food hot & quick. Teens on registers were fine & a “grown-up” in dining room attended to customer needs. Congested drink area tho.
Food was fine. Chimichanga was good. We had a group of about 9 & I think server was new & a bit overwhelmed, but turned out ok.
We like the Tsunami Trio - 2 tacos + a side for just $8.50. My faves are the Rich Man & Shrimp Tempura tacos w/ the Fried Yucca. Others loved the avocado eggroll apptzr.
Nice, newly renovated (2018) space upstairs & down with loft-like feel - high ceilings, wood floors, classic downtown location for receptions, intimate concerts & more.
Known for burgers & fresh cut, overflowing fries, but pricey. Three little cheeseburgers, three drinks & one regular fry to split was $33 & change.
We went for late Sunday lunch. Short wait (went over to “Dark Side of the Moon” for quicker seating). Ordered great fried chicken. 3 sides: mashed sweet potato, cheese grits & slaw. All good.
They make up some nice cold weather spiked coffee & hot chocolate drinks. Get there early enough on game day & you can score a booth to hang out for a while.
I’m pretty traditional, so I get the Mad Dog (sausage, beef & Pep) & then add bacon, extra cheese & some garlic & onion on the 6” mini. Good stuff.
It’s a nice venue. Parking deck convenient. Have been to a concert or two, but also a few galas.
A surprise encounter on our trip, we sadly arrived after the museum closed, but took a quick stroll through the gift shop.
