John Kraft: It says “wood-fired pizza” in the name, so don’t be surprised inside smells like a campfire. Nice thin crusts in super hot oven - expect some char, but very good meat lovers; wife got fig/prosciutto.
John Kraft: I had the “crispy crispy flounder” that was huge & a glass of Sauvignon Blanc (no full bar). Desserts homemade. Got a tasty slab of coconut cake. Very good cake but odd to have cream cheese icing.

Steakhouse · West Augusta · 32 tips and reviews
John Kraft: A nice, older style steak house, nothing too fancy. Was here with a group & servers did a good job keeping up. Had drinks, fried shrimp app & a tender, flavorful filet.

John Kraft: Get app & earn points for rewards. Chick tenders & fish just ok; burger probably your best bet. Drive-thru may help prevent spare change requests from homeless breezing thru dining area. Nice staff.
John Kraft: Good burger (try the dragon’s breath - minus horseradish mayo for me), tots & adult beverages are on point. Right off the Dahlonega square.
John Kraft: They really know their olive oils & balsamics here. Let them take you through a free tasting flight & then try some on your own. The gift box sampler is a pretty good deal.

John Kraft: Back again 3-months after my last tip, this time ordering directly. Again enjoyed crab stew ahead & bread pudding after. This time main course was crab-stuffed branzino fish. Very tasty.

John Kraft: Big selection of whiskeys, as you would imagine, but good food as well. A really good burger on this 1st visit, waffle fries & an Old Fashioned.
John Kraft: A fine stay. First night, my sink drain very slow so told receptionist as leaving & it was running perfectly when I returned. This stay very quiet - didn’t hear a peep overnight.
Grocery Store · National Hills · 15 tips and reviews
John Kraft: A great store. Smaller & more personal than Whole Foods but still good variety with fresh produce, bakery, meats, coffee & more. Get their Irish Soda Bread in early/mid March.
John Kraft: Both eclectic & eccentric, this coastal community began in 1742. You’ll see a mix of rural & suburban, of modest mid-century homes & giant marsh-front mansions & plenty of oaks, moss, deer & more!
John Kraft: A great ice cream shop with over a century of history. Best chance to go is during the day. Long lines in the evening. Try the lemon custard. Or tutti fruity, or, or, or (so many good choices).
Farmers Market · Historic District-South · 11 tips and reviews
John Kraft: A few vendors & crowd are a bit hippy-dippy, but overall good & included some nice stations for meats, sausages & even seafood along with ample baked goods, nice produce & some unique items too.
John Kraft: Finally tried UnWine’d. Had chicken cordon blue sliders on pretzel buns & a Marietta Buck mule (bourbon-based) to drink. Good. A guest nearby said their favorite is the chicken pot pie. Next time.🙂
John Kraft: We’ve loved Hirano’s for 30+ years! That was mostly before leaving Savannah years ago, but I still can’t recall a bad meal & was as good as ever last week. Chicken teriyaki or shrimp are my go-to’s.
