- Abigail KofflerDecember 28, 2014Ali's tiny spot feels like a friend's house. arrive early, byob and get ready for well spiced mezze, cauliflower and more. Vegetarians have lots of options.
- Violet BennettAugust 8, 2015Let the chef give you a recommendation. We had a mixed platter of hummus and babaganoush ect with fresh pita to begin, then the lamb shank for a main. Absolutely phenomenal.
- New York PostSeptember 1, 2014El Sayed sublimely blends his madness into the striking mezze platter, filled with freshly fried falafel and chicory leaves, cut apples and crudités, handmade baba ganoush, hummus and ful. Read more
- Kathryn YuAugust 14, 2011The menu is given verbally and changes every night. Ask if you can have a mezze plate and the organ meats of the day. Don't miss the lamb brains, lamb cheek, hearts, sweetbreads, liver, or tongue.
- Bill B.June 3, 2011Beef shank & cows foot: sophisticated cultures understand how good this is. Sweet bread with caper sauce and lamb brain: man is that good. This is one of the best meals I've had in a long time.
- Ask Chef Ali what he suggest for the day; as there is no tangible menu to look at. Anything he suggest will be a great try, or ask for the Lamb Shank, and the Duck & Rabbit Ragu.
- Ryan EickNovember 16, 2023Food is good, maybe not the best middle eastern in the area, but it’s got a whole lot of personality
- GourmetLiveApril 1, 2011Eat like an Egyptian with Kabab Café’s Mezza that’s a typical Middle Eastern appetizer. “It’s a large selection of different vegetables cooked raw in a healthy preparation,” notes Chef Michael Ginor.
- James ColinoApril 6, 2012Go early. The chef will entertain you and walk you thru a great variety of animal parts, veggie treats and roasted anything. Amazing.
- Best restaurant in NYC! Cash only. Start with a mixed plate and don't be afraid to eat the more exotic offerings
- Claire SextonMay 7, 2012So delicious! Trust the chef, just say what you're allergic to or don't like and Ali will fix you something nice.
- Melanie W.December 26, 2014I'd like to go back for a full meal, but am afraid of the fact that they don't have a menu with prices.
- MayaPapayaFebruary 3, 2010I love this place! The owner, Ali, is awesome and everything is delicious and made fresh. Try the lamb cheek dish and duck dumplings - everything is good though.

- Sheikh HossainOctober 15, 2013Horrible experience. Took girlfriend here. Doesn't have a menu. Verbally told us the menu. Didn't give us 30 seconds to choose what we wanted to eat. Told us it's a bad omen and told is to leave.
- Colleen LindsayMarch 28, 2010Don't bother with the menu. Let Ali suggest something for you. You won't be sorry!
