I had my first Pastrami on Rye here years ago! It felt like Christmas when my grandpa told me to "go get my own"....I now know why. Greed isn't always a bad thing. Thank you Katz's!

In 127 years, little has changed. Katz's remains one of New York's—and the country's—essential delis. Order at the counter, and don't forget to tip your slicer—your sandwich will be better for it. Read more

Just a suggestion for tourists... Tip (ie leave a gratuity) the Amazing Counter folks, they work extremely hard... and if you take care of them they may give you a "locals" portion.... ;-)

Pastrami and corned beef on rye with Russian dressing and cole slaw. Wash it down with a Dr Brown's black cherry soda. If you can do handle it, you're a true new yorker.

It's all about the pastrami on rye at this famous deli. Take your ticket stub, walk to the right counter, get your food, and chow down. Don't lose that ticket stub though or it'll cost ya!

Super crowded, super touristy, still delish. Bring a buddy and split a pastrami on rye. There's table service, but there are also self-serve tables hiding in the back. DON'T LOSE YOUR TICKET!
