Some people say this isn't the right kind of airport. Those people usually travel too much. But the light rail into downtown would be pretty great!

Do NOT eat at the Top of KC restaurant in the Delta gate area. Roast beef sandwich had two paper thin slices of roast beef. The portion of cole slaw that came with it filled about 1/3 of a small cup.

With free Wi-Fi access and an easy-to-navigate design, MCI is one of the best airports I've flown into. Then again, my status as a native Kansas Citian may be clouding my judgment.

If you want to be on a earlier flight but don't want to pay the extra $50 bucks, just ask at the check-in. It's not guaranteed, but it worked with us :)

Get a healthy snack or sandwich/salad at Farmers Market - by Gate 38 - past security. Yes-INSIDE :-) And Starbucks is by Gate 41.

They are currently under renovation and there are only 2 functional terminals. They are very small and lack decent amenities. Security is broken up by gate. Staff here is very friendly.

This airport has very few outlets and by few I mean 4 total between gates 56-60. So bring a splitter and share with a new friend or bring a book.

Get food before you get here as all they have is a bar at 68 and a Starbucks. Easy airport to fly in and out of.

Rental car pickup is a hassle. Both Enterprise and National need lessons in customer svc. Terminals are terrible for frequent travelers. Hey the 60's called and they want their airport terminal back!

One of the easiest airports to get in and out of. However, very few dining options and after going through security there are essentially no places to eat

It might have short TSA lines but it’s not set up nicely. Delt with myself some issues and saw others being treated rudely as well they need to for sure do an update and get people to be friendly

If you’re unable to select the middle seat when booking your flight, do not book that flight. The flight is most likely oversold which could make for an unwanted adventure when take-off time comes.

TSA here are clown-shoes. Be prepared for all sorts of random bullshit. "Bag too full" or "iPad is a laptop", and any other random yelling the fake-TSA contractors drum up.

Definition of an easy airport, never seen a shorter TSA line. Gas station next door to the rental return makes this place a dream to fly from.

The Supershuttle here is great going TO the airport, but when you are arriving on a flight, be prepared to wait for the van to fill (or at least 3 people) before leaving the airport grounds.

Parking at Terminal B (Southwest, Delta) is frequently full. Check the status of any of the parking lots at http://www.flykci.com before you leave home.

Amenities are few (free wifi is huge though), but easy on, easy off. Located in the urban center equivalent of Mars. But so easy once you're there. Would not want an extended layover, though.

Best airport to arrive to (quick and close baggage, ground transportation 50 feet away) The Worst airport to depart from (No food, wifi is super-slow and tiny holding pens for gates).

If you catch a late-night, winter flight in and are getting a rental, wait for the shuttle inside. It can take 10-15 minutes to makes its rounds at night.

The cab situation is bleak here late at night. You have to call for them and even then you are gonna wait. I guess this is a rent a car or find a friend with wheels kind of a place.

Small terminals and compacted TSA lines. Other than that the airport is barely functional for the modern traveler. Don't expect to be able to eat after going through TSA.

They need to expand the airport. Only one restaurant inside the gates -" pork and pickle". Smallest airport I have ever been to, everyone is bumping into each other. Southwest section.
