If you're going to the best comedy show in NYC on Sunday nights at 9pm, you'll see @HannibalBuress, but only if you get there early (like 45 minutes before) to get a seat / spot at the front.

They always have great residencies and if your that into the band you can always watch them through the glass while sitting at the bar in the front of the venue. Grab some Fette Sau BBQ across the St.

One of the many great smaller venues to catch live acts in Williamsburg. Not just music, but excellent comedy every Sunday night, which was once hosted by Hannibal Buress.

Great sound for a small and intimate spot. You can watch the show from the restaurant, separated by glass windows. Never seen more people onstage at a Hip-hop show than the Phife Dog tribute here!

Small sports bar with cheap drinks and a good layout. Grab a table quickly because they'll run out soon. They don't serve food so order something from the pizza spot next door and bring it in.

Fun place for concerts but also for a drink at the bar where you can actually watch the crowds dancing inside the show room

Great for watching games, especially as a Bay Area sports fan (not a lot of crowds on those game nights). Big screens, tap selection could be better.

Pearl and The Beard played an incredible album release show here. The staff is incredible - from the box office to the bar to the bouncers to the sound and lighting. Wonderful people. Ace.

If a band you follow is playing here and you're telling yourself "aw man it's pretty far" GO. It's a great venue. A bar and two bathrooms in the stage area and more down the hall.

One of the loudest venues around. Room is so shallow there's nowhere for noise to go. Earplugs available for $1 at will call.

game nerds, take note: this place has a weird Nintendo/SNES/Sega hybrid console and a bucket of games that you can play if you ask nicely. But be forewarned, if you fire it up, you may never leave.

Too broke for the show? Sit down at the bar, order a $3 beer and watch the show through the huge glass window. Works great when they run the live sound into the bar, still kinda funny when they don't.
