- Zaarly NYCSeptember 11, 2011Hands down closest thing to real Mexican food you'll get in NYC. Ask for a table downstairs in the back room. Trust me its worth the wait!
- Morgan NelsonAugust 12, 2014Their platos are a fresher Verizon of a chipotle burrito bowl - and well worth walking the extra block got if you're in the area.
- Anita MooreDecember 23, 2014Great party scene downstairs. Don't forget to put on your "cool" if you hope to get past the doorman.
- Micah SpielerMarch 17, 2016Got two tacos. Their good, a tad pricey but worth it. I'd recommend getting 3.
- Elizabeth OtaolaSeptember 27, 2015Swanky underground spot. Good for dates. Good mix of latin music with american music
- VansiJuly 15, 2014The carnitas are great! If you want a quick bite, the first floor features a small and awesome menu!
- BonobosAugust 10, 2012Head to the Taqueria for lunch, the tacos are fantastic. Outdoor seating in SoHo but get there right at 12 or you'll be waiting in line.
- The Mexican corn is out of this world. Wave at the workers as they make your corn from the window, they love it.
- Chicken tinga, pollo rostizado, and the shrimp/fish tacos are the bomb. Just excellent. Best tacos around.
- Jolanda H.September 21, 2016Funny and nice experience to walk down and along the kitchen and find the hidden bar there.
- Fabio GrattonOctober 25, 2010Love the tacos and corn here. Amazing. Love the secret underground den. But hate... absolutely HATE the ridiculously pretentious scene, especially when it comes to getting downstairs to get a drink.
- Rachel FosterNovember 11, 2011Tacos are super delicious, but husband ordered the chorizo quesadilla and I will be dreaming about that flavor for the rest of my life!
- Excellent, greasy, late-night food. Get a quesadilla de huitlacoche. It sounds and looks dirty, but I promise its delicious. Scarf it down before you ask Google what the hell you just ate.
- Ik SiMay 29, 2016Love this place, but my heart is broken by the fact that they don't have the chicken tinga tacos on their menu anymore!
- Colin LeeJune 4, 2016Ate at the take out counter; its nice they have indoor seating for a quick bite. Solid pollo tacos.
- Public House WineSeptember 3, 2014Awesome grilled corn. Great pickup spot, or destination for late night tacos and sangria.
- Adriana KaegiJanuary 30, 2011a fun restaurant bar, hang out if you can find your way into the speak-easy type place, great DJ's good looking and fun crowed if you can get in
- Patricia LeeJuly 25, 2015Yummy place for a drink and a bite. Do not go to the BK location as there is a very obvious quality difference.
- Amanda RellaJuly 6, 2017Go to the basement for an unexpected speakeasy environment. Great food and drinks!
- Katherine ChangFebruary 3, 2012Worth the pain of getting reservations! The quest fundido is to die for and I love the underground location (4 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
- The huitlacoche quesadilla was delicious; wonderfully gooey with cheese and not too greasy.
- Duly impressed by the bistec taco. Quesadilla de pollo ain't bad. But I'll mostly be back for the other tacos. And maybe some tequila.
- Patrick BaskinJanuary 19, 2016Carnitas tacos are tasty, but only ate upstairs, try to get downstairs for the best experience
- Anne LiseSeptember 8, 2013Take pescado tacos: just perfect! With a glass of delicious marguarita de la casa <3
- Carlos PachecoMay 4, 2012Amazing place with really creative and obviously good tacos. The ELOTES CALLEJEROS (grilled local corn) is a must!
- Rewan PartiJanuary 29, 2015The tacos and grilled corn are on the spot. They make some real margaritas.
- Plato Julia can't be beat as a budget lunch deal. A ton of food for under $10.
- RockStarNewYorkDecember 17, 2012Finally found a restaurant that is on par with La Super-Rica Taqueria in Santa Barbara, CA (Julia Child's favorite Mexican restaurant)!
- Can't beat it as a late night spot, but come back in the morning for a breakfast burrito with avocado or chorizo. Perfect for staving off that hangover.
- OMGICUMarch 21, 2011You might not make it downstairs past the doorman unless you're with Robert Pattinson, Natalie Portman or other A-listers seen here. But you can watch them pass by as you dejectedly sip your horchata.
- William KapferApril 7, 2013take home some extra chicken tacos for a midnight snack -- they're tasty and surprisingly very inexpensive. Great service.
- Sam HaskelFebruary 19, 2015Incredible place...definitely get the corn and check out the restaurant downstairs--very special
- The tacos are great. The two fish tacos are my favourite so far 😋
- Sadik Aydin PhotographyNovember 6, 2014Taste was incredible. Be careful and don't get lost because of their tasteful menu! Enjoy!
- Melissa RogersDecember 9, 2013If you can't get a table, try the more casual Taqueria around the corner - same tacos served there.
