- Beril EsenOctober 24, 2017This place is like the girl next door of beer gardens: unassuming and decent. Get your pint of Gaffel Kölsch, bratwurst and make your way toward the backyard patio, which gets full on Fall evenings.
- CarolineAugust 16, 2015Great sausages and great service! Staff is cool with people hanging out for awhile (not constantly asking if you "need anything else"). Great place for a lazy afternoon beer and snack.Upvoted Nov 20
- Awesome beer garden! Definitely book the outdoor seating and get the currywurst! Excellent selection of beers and delicious sausages and schnitzel. On Christmas, definitely try their holiday drinks!
- James MarshallOctober 21, 2015German food and beer garden. Great outdoor space. Solid German food. Currywurst, schnitzel, etc all excellent I find it to be a better beer selection than Zum Schneider, but I like Zum's more honestly
- Village VoiceAugust 15, 2014Meaty entrees include the brined, braised and roasted pork shank, sausage platter with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes, and thinly pounded pork schnitzel. Read more
- Justin BretonSeptember 14, 2014The basement is a great place for a private birthday party! They allow you to play your own music and staff the bar.
- CarolJanuary 17, 2022saw their gorgeous Instagram photos and trekked out in the snow to try the seasonal drinks. They were really underwhelming and overpriced $18; $18 for reg cocktail
- The patio out back is great. Bring some cards, order some large beers and enjoy. Sometimes the waiters/waitresses can be a little uptight about splitting checks though for the table.
- Damian BayonaMay 23, 2016Well curated beer list and bar food options. The Bratwurst & Bread is good for a snack or a meal and at $7 it's definitely a steal 👌
- Olivia MCSeptember 27, 2014The back garden is adorable and unexpected- a great place to spend a leisurely afternoon day drinking (garden closes at 10pm). Great German beers. Fries are on point, too.
- İpek A.February 28, 2015Beautiful place with a lot of beer choices and delicious foods. Pommes frites was amazing! And the oscar goes to ApfelStrudel!
- Krystel AbimeriAugust 11, 2013Best Biergarten I have been to in Manhattan. Tacos are to die for, amazing non-wheat beers, friendly staff. If you can't get a seat outside, they play some sweet tunes inside. Surprisingly not loud!
- The Corcoran GroupMarch 6, 2013Grab a seat out back in the garden and enjoy good company and a liter of Radeberger Pilsner with a Bavarian Bretzeln or a Frikadelle mit Pommes Frites.
- Ahn BustamanteFebruary 2, 2017Awesome friendly staff. They also let you try the beer if you're undecided. Great spot to meet friends.
- Pursarth TuladharMarch 17, 2013Try the Aventinus Weizen-Eisbock. Its the strongest beer in the house with a 15% alcohol content (I think) and tastes a little like an espresso. #goodstuff
- Eric FriedmanJune 1, 2014Great beer selection and sausage sampler to boot. Get the pretzel basket with great mustard for the table!
- Indulgent EatsJune 13, 2016Grab a picnic table in their backyard beer garden and take down a stein or 2 of beer to go along with classic German fare like schnitzel and bratwursts.
- I am not a beer drinker and their wine selection is very limited. However my brewski loving friends always want to come here as do my German friends so they must be doing something right!
- Kara TMay 17, 2014Wandering in here to an empty patio on Mother's Day was the best thing that happened to me last weekend. Delicious burger, cold German drafts, & knowledgable staff. Sunshine was just a cherry on top.
- JoyceDecember 3, 2022Been coming here since 2016 and it’s definitely changed to be more pricey and “American” without the unique German drinks and quirks. The service was good, but food and beer were meh.
- CBS New YorkApril 26, 2016Loreley Restaurant and Biergarten is serving a Hofbräu Maibock .5 Liter Beer and Buffalo Wing (8-pieces) during Ales N' Apps Week (May 9-13)
- ShinaSeptember 20, 2014Massive glasses of beer! Go during Oktoberfest to try all the fun seasonal beers they offer.
- Adrienne SMarch 24, 2012Best for pretzels and beer in the back garden when the weather is nice. Great time there with @StephLyndon (3 of 4 petals via Fondu) Read more
- Cole KennedyJune 20, 2015Nice backyard patio, great sausages and pretzels, but I guess I just don't like German beer very much.
- One of the best spots in NYC for a beer lover to celebrate a with friends. Reserve the downstairs with enough people to get your own bartender for the night.
- Citi BikeMay 3, 2015This place is a gem - we love the backyard patio! Dock your Citi Bike at Rivington and Chrystie. Enjoy a stein or two, and be sure to take a cab home!
- Alex LimpaecherAugust 14, 2014Great Biergarten with a outdoor patio and legitimate German food (except for the würst tacos, that doesn't make any sense)
- Excellent Bavarian brew house with good beer and food. Back patio is covered and comfortable.
- Best place in the LES to get liter beers. Food here is great too, I'm a sucker for the curry wurst 😋
- KidhackNovember 21, 2021A great selection of German food and beers but with a perplexing offering of mediocre Mexican fare (tacos, nachos, guacamole, etc). They need to focus.
- All about that Schnitzel Sandwich. Perfect for midweek outdoor lunch!
- Calvin MultanenJanuary 18, 2015Nice selection of beers. Wasn't very impressed with the food though. We had the pretzels and sausage platter. Might be worth checking out in the spring/summer
- Sabrina PorterMay 8, 2010There is no tips other than have your fill on some german beers and food. The steak and pork chops are great. This was a great time a friend and I to another friend here for his brithday a few years a Read more
- BonobosAugust 10, 2012Great German beer garden with a German food menu and an outstanding beer selection. Lots of outdoor seating when the weather's nice.
- Chris EvansAugust 9, 2014Pretzels and beer! But the outside seating is a lot better than the inside dining, which can get a little claustraophobic.
- babs velosoOctober 14, 2015beer + sausage sampler are awesome (I must admit I don't remember the entire night though 😳)
- New York HabitatNovember 7, 2011A beer garden with a great selection of brews. Bring your friends, get some pretzels and sausage, some beer, and enjoy!
- Amy CummingsFebruary 20, 2017Definitely sit out on the back patio when it's nice out! Great kölsch beer.
- Just a great outdoor space in a relatively barren area of the city if you want to enjoy the nice weather
- Ray LinAugust 16, 2014If Sweet & Vicious is too divey for your taste of outdoor patios, give Loreley a try. They have beer flights!
- Andrew CAugust 8, 2014German beers in giant glasses! It doesn't get any better...until you go into the fantastic beer garden!
- Solid backyard. Do what you always do at a beer garden: get a pretzel and a 1L beer!
- Lia ValengoApril 20, 2014Nice staff and food, but be careful in the patio. There is an old lady living upstairs that throw down water in your head now and then.
- Sebastian DörnerSeptember 21, 2014Bratwurst (w/ mash & sauerkraut), Reibekuchen and Kartoffelsuppe are winners, the curry wurst not so much.
